Israelis are unaware of the deep relationship their country has with the European Union, Javier Solana, the union's foreign policy chief said Wednesday, adding that his organization's ties with Israel are stronger than those with candidate country Croatia. "There is no country outside the European continent that has this type of relationship that Israel has with the European Union," Solana said at the Presidential Conference in Jerusalem. "Israel, allow me to say, is member of the European Union without being a member of the institution. It's a member of all the programs, it participates in all the programs. And I'd like to emphasize and underline, with a very big, thick line [that Israel participates] in [helping us deal] with all the problems of research and technology, which are very important." "I am sorry to say, but I don't see the president of Croatia here," Solana continued, referring to Stjepan Mesic, who is also attending the three-day conference. "His country is a candidate for the European Union, but your relation today with the European Union is stronger than [our] relation to Croatia. Don?t tell him that," he joked. In his speech, Solana reiterated the European Union's commitment to helping prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons. He also briefly addressed the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, saying its slow pace is the results of poor methodology. "We have to concentrate on methodology. I think we need not only to get the two parties to get along, but we need rapid mediation, to agree on fixed dates and to agree on fixed dates when to implement them. www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1122624.htmllmfao owned by zidovi.

Of course this is true. Who is Israel going to turn to in it's neighbourhood? The Arabs, Turkey. Who will it look to outside it's neighbourhood? Russia, India, China.
No it will turn to rich countries with large Jewish populations and lobbies. Especially when some have moral reasons for backing Israel (i.e. Germany who bankrolled Israel after the it's economic miracle post-war), economic reasons (i.e. ISrael orders state of the art weapons, Arabs order 5-7 times more <-- this benefis France), historical reasons (UK) and the rest don't care.

If Israel is more European than us, then where does that put Serbia, Bobo? Radovic got it right though. One of the biggest lobbies in the US is the Jewish lobby, so they have a lot of influence.

U.S. support for Israel has more to do with Protestant lobbies. Turn on one of the Christian channels have the time you'll see them talking about Israel, the end times and Ahmadinejad being the devil and Putin being MAGOG <-- some retarded biblical references. The Republicans are tied more to Christian fundamentalist cults who urge support for Israel to hlep bring the end times. <-- Although this retarded view contradicts the bible, since it says no man will know when it comes. Dems support Israel for economic reasons and Jewish support in liberal states (if the first outweight the benefits of the second they'd stop). Republicans because of their ties to Christian death cults [at least most of them do, their are exceptions like Ron Paul[.

Are you saying that Republicans support Christian fundamentalists who support Jewish lobbies so as to bring the end of days?

Are you saying that Republicans support Christian fundamentalists who support Jewish lobbies so as to bring the end of days? After business lobbies their biggest support is Christian fundmanetalist, who support ISrael like Likud led Aipac. Likud (idoelogy set by Jewish zionist abroad) wants as much jews and money and high-tech weaponry to come to Israel and thus they make strange bedfellows with Protestant groups (mainly evangelist) who talk of the need to support Israel to bring about the end times. Pat Robertson and John Hagee are the two biggest examples of this.

Getting back on the speech, it was epic, I won't lie. Why doesn't he extend EU membership to Israel, if the Jews get his dick wet as so.

I think Solana was joking. Israel is close to EU, but it is closer to USA. Israel can never be more close to EU, because Croatia is in Europe and will join very soon. Israels is not situated in Europe.

Do not be surprised. Retards such as these do exist and Rush Limbaugh and the likes of him are liberals compared to these lunatics. There have been documentaries made on this.
Now I wanna ask the Croatians. How do you feel about this Solana guy? Personally I do not like how he has done his job. I believe a Brit, French, Dutch or German would have done a better job.

In the Spanish world Solana is known as a joke. In 1992 when they made him FM, he was an embarassment for Spain during a conference of Spanish speaking states.

If Israel is more European than us, then where does that put Serbia,Rehn: Serbia-Russia relations “useful”BRUSSELS -- European Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn says that good political and economic relations between Serbia and Russia can only benefit everyone in Europe.Rehn said that by strengthening cooperation with Serbia, Russia was strengthening its strategic interests in the Balkans and in Europe. He added that “when Serbia and its place in Europe are concerned, relations between the EU, NATO and the Russian Federation are not without use.” “And that goes for other countries as well, such as Ukraine,” he added. The European commissioner said that “it is entirely possible that for the best interests of Serbia and everyone, Serbia be integrated further into the European Union, politically and economically, while, at the same time, maintaining friendly trade, economic and political ties to the Russian Federation.” Rehn said that such relations already existed in the European Union. He said that Finland, which is completely integrated into the EU and is a member of the Eurozone and the Schengen zone, “contributes significantly to the EU and UN peace operations, and has very good trade, economic and other ties to Russia.” Rehn said that “such a situation is of general benefit” and “for everyone’s wellbeing.” www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2009&mm=10&dd=23&nav_id=62540ahhhhhh politics.
