Lyrics with the English translation bellow
O, nisu krivci primitivci što su pokupili mast. (Guilty are not the primitives that took 'greace'*)(*=worth) Korov nikne di god stigne. Ma, svaka njima cast. (Darnel grows wherever it arrives. Well, congrats to them) Krivi smo mi. (We are the guilty ones) Otkud svi ti paraziti što su nam zagustili? (From where are all these parasites that made all this) Nemoj stari moj, krivi smo mi što smo ih pustili. (Stop my old (friend), we are the guilty for allowing them) Ma, šta su znali generali i brkati majori? (Well, what did generals and mustached majors knew?) Jedino da vièu: "Pali!", ali - nisu najgori. (Only to say: 'Fire', but they are not the worst) Krivi smo mi! (We are the guilty ones) Ni svi ti silni infantilni što su puške sanjali. (Not all these numerous infantiles that only dreamed of rifles) Ne, ne derane. Krivi smo mi što smo se sklanjali. (No no kid. We are guilty for being on sidelines)
Putuj Evropo, nemoj više cekati na nas. (Travel Europe (ahead), do not wait for us anymore.) Ne pitaj mnogo, dospeceš i ti na rdjav glas. (Dont ask much, you too will acquire a bad name.) Putuj planeto, super smo se družili. (Travel planet, super was our friendship) Nama je lepo, taman kako smo zaslužili. (We have it lovely, just as we have deserved it.) Nisu krivci depresivci, lutaju psihopate, (The depressed ones are not guilty, wondering psychopaths) što su rušili pa sada nama nude lopate. (That were destroying and now offer us a cleanup) Krivi smo mi. (We are the guilty) Nisu krivi sedativi što ih nisu sputali. (The sedatives are not guilty for not stopping them) Sorry matori, krivi smo mi koji smo cutali. (Sorry old (freind), guilty ones are us for being silent) Putuj Evropo i pošalji nam malo peciva. (Travel Europe (ahead) and send us a bit of biscuits) Nama je dobro - sreca jedna neizreciva. (We have it good - happiness that can not be defined)
Putuj planeto, ovde se vrag priziva. (Travel planet (ahead), here Devil is being called upon) Nama je lepo. Slika jedna neopisiva. (We have it good. Picture that can not be described)
(We have it lovely, just as we have deserved it.) Nisu krivci depresivci, lutaju psihopate, (The depressed ones are not guilty, wondering psychopaths) što su rušili pa sada nama nude lopate. another one of his songs
"As long as there is no war" (idea: let there be anything but war)
Pijani momci prolaze du` naše tihe ulice, (Drunken young men passing through our quite street) oni u vojsku polaze, prate ih tu`ne curice, (they are going to army, followed by saddened young girls) brinu ih s**tnje sulude - da rata ne bude! (worried by insane worries - just let there be no more war!)
Ne mogu da me ne sete suze na vrh tvog nosiæa (It can not be without memories of tears on top of your little nose) devetsto-osamdesete, ulice Brane Æosiæa ((1000)ninehundred-eighty, street of Branko Cosic) i voza crnog k'o da s njim zauvek odlazim. (and the black train as if one to exit with)
Znaš šta, neka mora sve potope, (You know what, let the seas drown all) nek se gleceri rasture, vecni snegovi otope. (let the glaciers go wild , let eternal snows melt) Pa šta, neka kiše ne prestaju, (So what, let rains never stop) neka gromovi polude, samo rata da ne bude! (Let thunders go insane, just so there is no war!)
Znaš šta, nek se doba preokrenu, (You know what, let the seasons switch) nek se zvezde uznemire, nek se planine pokrenu. (Let the stars get exited, let the mountains go upside down) Pa šta, vetri nek pomahnitaju, (So what, let winds go psychotic) nek se vulkani probude, samo rata da ne bude! (Let the volcanoes wake up, just so there is no war!)
K'o zlatni prah, oreol sna, oko malenih glavica (As golden dust, aureole of dreams, around tiny heads) i tvoja ljubav nad njima cuva ih kao lavica. (And your love over them protects them as a lioness) Loše te vesti uzbude - da rata ne bude! (Bad news excite you, just let it be no war!)
Znaš šta, neka mora sve potope, (You know what, let seas drown all,) nek se gleceri rasture, vecni snegovi otope. (let the glaciers go wild , let eternal snows melt) Pa šta, neka kiše ne prestaju, (So what, let rains never stop)
Samo da rata ne bude, ludila medju ljudima, (Just let it be no war, lunacy among men,) veliki nude zablude, plaše nas raznim cudima (great ones offer illusions, scare us with various wonders) i svakoj bajci naude - da rata ne bude! (and every fairy tale they damage - just let it be no war)
Samo da rata ne bude, ludila medju ljudima, (Just let it be no war, lunacy among men,) veliki nude zablude, plaše nas raznim èudima (great ones offer illusions, scare us with various wonders) i svakoj bajci naude - da rata ne bude! (and fairy tale they damage - just let it be no war)
Kraj (The End)

If Jugoslavia had more men as smart as Balasevic, you would still be a union and a major entity within the EU. Instead... yea...

No it would not Toskaliku, no it would not. Not even.... if God was to have came down to dwell amongst them at that time..... it would not have made a difference. I believe that catalyst was Kosovo demonstration in early 1980s or so it seems at the surface. But after more careful analysis causes seem far more deeper. Former communists turn nationalists (in Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro) all readily push the region towards madness. Peaceful and popular people like Ante Markovic were marginalized for Franjo Tudjman and Slobo Milosevic while Fikret Abdic in Bosnia replaced with fundamentalist Alija Izetbegovic. All these former communists turned nationalists makes me wonder. (sounds like 5th column to me.. like Gorbachev in USSR) West did not appear keen on helping maintain stability for that country and sparked winds that sailed Slovenia and Croatia towards independence and Bosnia while ignoring constituent Serbs in the last two (who suffered from genocide in WW2 in same regions).

Its true, the Serbian community of Croatia was from the very beginning just a political tool that Milosevic had in order to justify militarism against the country. Samething with Kosova. I no doubt think that he had emotional attachment towards the people there to some extent, however they were for him chiefly a political tool... that he abandoned once it was no longer of any use to him.

Jugoslavia was the creation of Tito and for decades survived under his charisma, ability and power. Once Tito died, there simple was nobody there who could come even close to him. In all the separate republics you found individual leaders who were little more than princes in a kingdom, all of whom now wanted to be kings. The lack of any coherent long term unitary strategy for Yugoslavia and the over reliance upon the cult figure of Tito ensured, I believe, its eventual death. Compiled with the economic troubles of the 80s and the increased debt of the complex... it resulted in a slow and bloody partition.
Yugoslavia, as far as I see it, was doomed to failure.

Would it have been a chance for Yugoslavia to survive if it had been admitted into EU urgently and unconditionally? I guess it was/is the only common purpose for the YU ethnicities. (Though some people were/are sceptical about EU, but still joining it was a uniting factor)
