There are some Serbs that have a really strong Asiatic look like Jelena Jankovic or Mateja Kezman. It's far from typical but I think Asian features can show up a fair bit where it's not so obvious... Like this girl here. I think she has a really typical Serb look... So the question is where does it come from? There are many possibilities... Cumans, Bulgars, Turks(I really don't think so), general influence on slavs, even Sarmatians. One genetic study has shown Sarmatians to be of western Eurasian origin... Maybe it's even like a combination of influences. Like maybe this girl is of Sarmatian origins and Jelena Jankovic is of Cuman origins...

I haven't noticed it in Albanians except for Miss Kosovo once. I don't think Nora Istrefi is a good example. She has more of an exotic Anglo-Indian kind of look imo. Not the Asians I'm thinking of.

Keep in mind that Slavs come from the same area as those people. Its very common to run into Russians, Poles, Ukrainians, and even Romanian, with some noted central asian features, not necessarily because of mixing, but because Slavs at their earliest may have very well had some of the such features.

Serbs with such eyes have Magyar admixture probably. Genuine Slavs don't have Asiatic-narrow eyes. In fact real Russians were red haired people and the name of their nation came from this word(Rusi - Red), plus there are historic quotes testifying this. Anyway today there are central Asians living in Russia or Tatar and various other origins, but they are not genuine Russians. And its even laughable to talk about non-European admixture in population of Poland, unless they are some immigrants

The Rus were vikings, vikings were germanics meaning not Slavic. Also I've seen a lot of Slavs with slanted eyes. Not only Serbs or anyone in areas near the Hungarians. Slavs did mix a lot with the Lapps atleast. And the Mongols. Slavs are the people in Europe closest to the Asians geographicly.

Except for the obviously ugly face she has a beatifull eye colour I myself have Green eyes and I think it's quite good looking. Green eyes are quite usual in Albanians from what I've seen. She kinda look like a Lapp. And I would know as I've seen many Lapps or people with Lapp admixture.

Ves = Village, Rus = Red etc all are Church Slavonic words, and has no meaning in German or old Norse. Second, Kievan Rus was far away from any Germanic tribe or Vikings. There is no reason why superior Kievan Rus would ask for help from Vikings, and there is not any evidence about some Viking raid(which would be suicide for them as Kievans had greatly stronger army both technologically and in numbers). The theory you stand by was Nazi creation and clearly outdated. Mongol admixture is non-existent in Slavs there are clear genetical evidence showing this. For the Lapps I can agree as there probably was some mixing.

The word Rus comes from Finnish Ruotsi which is a Finnish term for Swedes, it's argued that it's from the word Ro=Rowing. These Roos were people that inhabitated the areas around the balticum. I'm not saying that Russians or Slavs are decendants of Swedish vikings. I'm saying that they gave the Russians that name. Also if they were so red-haired why aren't they now? While there surely are Russians with red hair I doubt there are a lot of them. Most Russians and Slavs I have seen have Blond or light brown hair except for the south Slavs. Also I just read on Kievan Rus and it says that they were founded by east slavic tribes and scandinavian traders called Rus.

"Also if they were so red-haired why aren't they now?" Because those descriptions were made by Arab chroniclers, and its known they called all people with dark blond or light brown hair as red hair.
Other statements aren't even worth or talking about since Finnish language developed much later then proto-Slavic or Old Norse or proto-Germanic, and mostly words are taken from those 3 languages, plus I already told you exact meaning of the word "Rus" as it was written down by old chroniclers. This exact word means nothing in Old Norse or Germanic so just quit arguing there

This exact word means nothing in Old Norse or Germanic so just quit arguing there I don't think proto-slavic was much older. I know it's wikipedia but en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavic_languagesen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finnish_language"The Balto-Finnic languages evolved from the Proto-Finnic language after Sámi was separated from it around 1500–1000 BCE." "The secession of the Balto-Slavic dialect ancestral to Proto-Slavic is estimated on archaeological and glottochronological criteria to have occurred sometime in the period 1500-1000 BCE" Also I don't understand why they would call themselves Rus because Arabs described them as red haired when they were blonde? And I've read this they described them as tall, blonde people not red haired. www.saudiaramcoworld.com/issue/199906/among.the.norse.tribes-the.remarkable.account.of.ibn.fadlan.htmAs for asian admixture with Slavs. english.pravda.ru/main/18/90/360/11931_alcoholism.htmlAlso Rus is either from Finish, or it's from the Germanic word Ro=Rowing. As the Vikings were sea people it could be that these Vikings called themselves after that. Ro=Roos/Rus does have a meaning.

well Ulf, if u look at the Tatars in Russia, they look no different than Russians themselves.
I don't think there is such a thing as a Russian race. They are very mixed. A lot have Asian features.

They are white European race, whereas Tatars are yellowish Asians, and don't give me examples such as Marat Safin or similar people with clearly minimal Tatar blood

Odel is right. The term Rus is Viking. There are no people in the world named after the color of their hair. Generally Greek and Roman writers use the same word for people north of the Danube, equivalent to red. They grouped up Celts, Germans, Dacians and later Slavs into this category. Arabs probably adopted this from them.
