Simpler just to say "Jesi umoran?" though.
The usual answer is "radim ko crcnac!!!!".

Da li si umoran - Masculine Da li si umorna - Feminine
I agree with Vinjak ... this isnt typical Croatian Grammar.
Sentences/questions/phrases in Croatian generally dont start with 'Da li'. But i forgive you Mig ... you were born in Bosnia so you might be used to Bosnian or serbian depending on which was dominant where ever u were born.

Well, I'm sorry, I don't know what proper Croatian was. Because I was in Slavonija, and they speak like that there. Are you trying to say that Slavonija isn't Croatia or Croat Land? But on that note, please explain to me what "Proper Croatian" is. Because after all, I'm just a simple Bosnian Croat.

I haven't met many Croatians who speak 'proper.' I assume proper is that which reflects in the official text books. In my experience most people speak 'folk' Croatian regulated to their geographical area. I speak it this way too.

No. I was talking about Hrvatski Pravopis (what is taught at school) ... and not every day speak. Although i still disagree with you ... Most people use the word 'Je si' instead of 'Da li'. And lastly when were u in Slavonija last or Croatia for that matter? The Language has developed and changed alot. And i didnt use the word 'proper' ... what was your word.

I didn't mean to come off as aggressive or disrespectful, if that's what you sense. I was just trying to find out. What should it matter when I was in Slavonija. I know people (and talk to them on a day to day basis), and they vary from Pozega to Vukovar, and they all speak like I do, other than the pronunciation of some words. It doesn't really matter if it's "Da li si umoran/umorna", or "Je si li umoran/umorna". Hrvatski and Srpski are not world away from eachother. But you do bring up a very valid point. In school I was taught Srpsko-Hrvatski, not Bosanski or Hrvatski. In my school days, that shit was one language. What part of Croatia do your parents come from?

In my experience most people speak 'folk' Croatian regulated to their geographical area. I speak it this way too. exactly. i'm from the dubrovnik area, and we speak the ijekavica sub-dialect of stovaski dialect of croatian. but it goes further than that. we also use different words for things than other regions do. so many parts of croatia have different dialects and sub-dialects and use different words for things, but everyone is ofcourse aware of the croatian standard language, but day to day speaking is used in the local tongue.

^ Good map. I haven't met many Croatians who speak 'proper.' I assume proper is that which reflects in the official text books. In my experience most people speak 'folk' Croatian regulated to their geographical area. I speak it this way too. So your genetical makeup is from the general area of what is called "Croatia". Am I correct? MiG - they are from Slavonija. No, they are currently in Slavonija. (Cousins, Family)

I see. To ask you if anyone speaks the way you described it would be silly because even I say shit like that sometimes. Nevertheless though, I've been with a girl from Slavonija, and she speak the exact same way as me. Although the naglasak can be funny to me sometimes.

Jesi umoran, Jel si umoran, or je li si umoran, same thing
da li si umoran sounds wierd though
And Viktor - "How was your day" in Real Croatia would be: "Kak je bija tvoj dan"
"How's work going?" : "Ca ima na Posa'?"
Later man
