And that's why Yugoslavia was in massive debt and doesn't exist...Congratz. I have every opportunity in America that Yugoslavia nor any other country in the world could ever offer me. That's a fact. it had less debt then croatia has today, and, I would rather work 7 hours a day, have a 3-4 bedroom apartment a wife nd 2 kids... get in my car, go na more 2 times a year, bbq with my mates and family.. rather that then work 11 hours day, have massive debt, a house of wood that only lasts 40 years, and fake americans who are all about money, and who would leave you in the gutter if you became sick..... then on your death bed, have kids who probably will not even come to see you your last year of your life, and who will perhaps if you are lucky have the decency to pay up for your funeral rather then sell you to medical reaserch so to get new hio-hop outfits and pokemons.... tako je brate, kod nas se zivjelo... zapdanjaci postoje.. ali oni nezive....

How can people say life was easy and simple, when you guys were not of working age??? Ask your parents and grandparents how hard they had to work for a dollar and see what they say. It's was simpler in the fact that there wasn't so much materialism etc as in America and the like but life was not all sweet.
I agree with you Zvone, you go girl (boy):-)

Yugoslavia had the highest per capita foreign debt in Europe.

No, they are not. Only the United States currently fulfills the criteria to be considered a superpower.
Another benchwarmer? What is United thinking, replacing Giggs with a player that is going to have a tough time receiving a working permit. They should just try to buy Gareth Bale.

lulz. no way out for america? keep dreaming and watch how usa still controls just about everything in this world.
if india is so dope, why do their workers work for american companies that don't even let them work WITHIN usa, rather they sit behind a desk and pretend to be american while still being in india and getting paid 5 bucks an hour from big american companies. yeah.. they're totally out to beat usa, no doubt.
whether you haters like it or not, USA will always be the #1 super power. keep dreaming that russia, india and china are somehow gonna gang up and push USA to the side. USA is about the youngest country there is and they needed little to no time to push all those big countries out of the line and become the best.
The USA system is designed not to fail, good luck reading those anti-american newspages that forsee the 'downfall' of USA, its nothing but humor for people who live here and know whats going on.

Yep no way out, and it will happen as it doesn't take an economist to understand basic math and forecasts. I'm moving to China :-)
lol @ bosnatron, we don't hate America; we just understand the world better than you do. The tide is shifting east.

I had a convo with some Serb awhile back (he was my assistant coach on my soccer team) and he seemed to agree on my evaluation of "quality of life" in ex-yu and here.
He was talking about his trip back home, and he said how in Beograd during weekdays, lunch and past, the coffee places and all that are all full, and he said he was asking himself if anybody actually works there.
I asked if he ever considered going back for good, and he said no. I told him of this Bosnian family who went back after spending some time in the US, they didn't like it.
But basically, from everything I've seen, if you don't have the education, and you do shitty jobs, the decision of where to live is made a lot easier. I think the Former Yugoslavia is a lot better. You might get shitty pay and not have as much work but chances are your social life will make up for it easy and the leisure time to live life.
These people I bring up came to America and did 2 different jobs. They just basically worked all the time and didn't do much else. That can be a shitty life. Yeah you have a better ability to have more but what's the point if you have no time to enjoy it?
If you have the education, you might work very hard, but you actually have a great standard of life, probably able to retire a lot faster, and have a very rewarding career.

Kepp dreaming I know some people in US Of A who had quite good jobs and s**t... man they getting less payed than my dad whos a ordinary worker in a factory.. BTW Norway & Switzerland is EU's america USA is what you make of it. What jobs did they have and do they hold a college degree? I found out that most people who complain in USA are the ones who lost their jobs and now cant find anything because they never went to college. If they have a bachelors degree in anything, they're pretty much guaranteed a starting salary between 40,000 and 50,000. Don't get me wrong, s**t happens to everyone, but those people who had a cushy job for years and then got laid off and cant find a better one is mainly because they come from a generation of Americans that grew up when you only needed a High School diploma to get a job, the standards have changed. Also, even if you lose a job, you get unemployment thats pretty cushy and it will get you by for months until you find something better. I remember when I was 20 I got laid off from my newspaper layout designer position and I received $300 bucks every week for 4 months until I found another job. I know plenty of others who were in the same boat and loved the fact that once you get laid off, you can chill the f**k out and enjoy money coming in for weeks and weeks until you get back on your feet. That is the way USA works and thats the reason why I love it. The reason why you guys have a warped idea of what goes on here is because you only hear complaints of those that are not resourceful enough to fix their s**t. USA makes it very easy for you to get by even if you lose your job, no one can tell me otherwise because I've lived it and I know damn well that no matter how bad s**t in USA gets, its still better than at most places. I repeat once more, if you have a college degree, you will always find a job here in states. Only the ones who got jobs through 'friends' and didn't need to show their qualifications and degrees are the ones that got fucked over and you know what? I really don't give a fuck, If I busted my ass going to college, so should everyone else.

Another thing that you haters forget is how large USA is. You compare this entire nation to small EU countries that are about as big as some god forgotten states here in US. You seriously have a warped idea on how things are here. Do you realize that everything in the USA differs from state to state? People who live in California, Massachusetts, New York have a completely different scenario than lets say people in some s**tty southern states. So how can you compare this entire big ass nation to Norway or Switzerland? It doesn't work that way. This map is from 2007: The map renames each state with a country that has approximately the same GDP as that state.

China may be a potential superpower, but it will never have a high standard of life because of so many people. I'll be long dead by the time China overshadows USA economically and politically. And yes sweetnugs, most northern states are a great place to live. Of course, California and Florida being an exception. But even where I live, Arizona, is really great. I have a job that pays my tuition to go to a good university, sweet scenery, and if I don't like it I can always go to Aspen, Reno, Las Vegas, etc. USA has its problem, but it is a great place to live.

Amerika propada. I remember couple months back in the Serbia's forum, some of their members were excited because some native-american Indian chief nulled the agreement that the colonists had with his tribe thus saying that 'his area' which was someplace in mid-west is no longer a part of US. LOL! I remember they did a news story on this on CNN and they showed the indian chief with like 4 people around him on some god forgotten resort. It was comedy to everyone normal but I specifically remember 'Fender' and some other Serbs parading how "US is falling apart! This is what they get for Kosovo!" f**king hilarious. This is about as funny as the state of Vermont asking for Independence along with Alaska. These same 'news' got some American haters saying that this is the end for USA.. bla bla.

Put it this way, I've been working in USA (part time & full time off and on) for 8 years and if I was god forbid disabled right now and forced to retire, I'd be entitled to $850.00 per month according to the statement I received not too long ago. I'm only 25 now, can you imagine how high that number will jump to when I am much older? Blago receno, American Health System is a scam.
