"For 30 years...? d*mn. What did he say he was?"
They met in kosovo, since my family are from there. He told her that he was Serbian, he never mingled with Albanians and he hid his real identity, he was known by the name, believe it or not, belo belovic. They had 3 children, two sons and a daughter. Before the children and wife had found out of their fathers/husband true identity, the two sons only hung around with Albanians and the daughter with serbian people. The wife one day was doing her daily chores and came across his passport and wondered whether this is her husbands passport, she later found out through authorities that her husband was in fact an Albanian who was born in Albania and lived there for some period of his childhood before migrating to kosovo with his parents. To cut a long story short, he admitted to this. The most sickening part was when the two brothers were forcing their youngest sister to marry an Albanian, if she refused they were going to *kill* her, she ran away and met a serbian man in central serbia and died while giving birth to his child.

50% Serb (both grandfathers) 25% Bosnian Croat 25% Austrian/Armenian/Czech -------------------------------------- = 100% fanatical Chetnik with something to prove ;D ===================================== Seriously though, I would consider myself Yugoslavian in a perfect world, which is what I actually am... but after the whole break-up, Serbia and Serbdom in general are the only things I can be loyal to and the only things I can relate to (same with my parents, who are both from mixed marriages) Armenian!!!! SOAD (the band) rules!!!

I think its normal to be of mixed ancestry but feel more of one due various reasons. They may be a quarter Serb and 3 quarters Croat but was raised in a Serb area and their behaviour, tastes and ways are Serbian. So they can consider themselves or align themselves with one group because they identify with it more than the other.

WOW, Novi, what a drama. Yet again another Serbian drama.

In question is my great-great-grandfather (my late grandma's grandfather). His last name was Urumov, so I am assuming he was a Russian/Ukranian from Armenia (or a Russified Armenian)?!? My dad couldn't tell me more about it, he doesn't even know. Basically though, my entire grandmothers side is not even Yugoslavian. They are more Austro-Hungarian than anything, considering that their roots in Bosnia date from that time. It is funny how people intermixed. It happened mostly in the cities mind you, where all kind of different ethnicities would converge. Village people usually married their own ethnicity. Nevertheless, my grandparents (despite being different ethnicities themselves) would've never allowed my mom or dad to marry a Muslim. That was the one no-no.
