Well?
Is anyone working there, or what's going on with it and who's doing the work?

Both Albanians and Serbs work there and its owned by the state.
Lack of investments has made it reduce its production and while raw material prices have continued to collapse on international markets. The price of nickel, zinc, silver and other metals have fallen so low that they now barely sufficient to maintain production financially.
Pending the return of "better days" and higher metal prices, more than 4,000 tonnes of zinc and lead have been stored in Trepca warehouses .

According to Pejoni, the "State"! Also Pejoni admitted that the good old days of the trepca mines when SERBS ruled the place are long gone, and ppl there are hoping for these good days to come back, if i read correctly the phrase: 'Pending the return of "better days" and...'

Which "state"? Belgrade, Pristina or Washington? Give Pejoni some time to answer this please! The answer is obvious I would have thought. To make it easier on everyone,we can rule out Washington and Pristina as it must adhere to Resolution 1244, even if it doesn't want to. I think the answer now stands out.

Pollies in Belgrade have the right the stamp down on anyone forbidding them. Theoretically. In practise the pollies are just big pussies who are willing to do anything to become EU/NATO pollies but aren't willing to sacrifice their popularity to they play this charade while Serbs in the Serbian Province of Kosovo continue to suffer.
Send in the troopers, says I. What is NATO going to do? Sucking up to the US/EU has only resulted in humiliation and subjugation for Serbs in Serbia. All promises they have made have either come up short or have been flat out lies.

So they are currently producing ore but not selling it, and there are Serbs and albanians working there? Is that the official final answer?
I can't seem to find any modern information on the mines wherever I go.

Its deciving which is probably why there is not many answers to be found Trepca mines is a vast complex which is a conglomerate and is technically all over Kosovo.
the mines that are in the Serb north are, Belo brdo, Cicavica,Koporice and zuta prlina Lead zinc mines and
The mines around the Gjilane area are flooded and unusable they also where/are Lead zinc mines.
the lignite mines are the ones close to Pristina and are being used now by KEK for electricity.
the mine around Djakovica is also in use and its a chrome mine.
So as you can all see Trepca is a complex all over Kosovo not a specific area.
Ownership is still in dispute a Greek company has claims as well as a British company and what complicates it more is they are trying to work out what exactly was sold when there is mention of Trepca mines. The UN are still technically the custodians of the Trepca mines but nobody really knows what is the "Trepca mines".
At first in 2000 they thought it was a priceless mine full of gold silver etc but now its been found that most of it is worthless domesticaly it is worth a lot as its lignite coal levels are vast but the rest of the complex is not worth the millions it will take to bring it back to operational levels there is massive lead contamination which would on its own cost millions and millions of dollars to clean up also the Nato bomb damage has contributed to lead contamination also.

By your logic, Kosovo is part of Serbia because about 3 times as many countries recognise Kosovo as part of Serbia.
