Bosnian flags torched in Bosnian Croat town 29 April 2008 Six Bosnia-Herzegovina flags were set on fire in Vitez, a Croatian town in the Muslim-Croat Federation.
The flags were displayed in Vitez for the first time after 13 years, reports said.
The incident took place over the weekend, and local police said several persons took part.
One suspect has been detained, while another "ran to Croatia", the police explained.
The flags were displayed to mark April 28, the day of the municipality.

I have been to Vitez a few times since the war, it is stratigically important to the Croat nationalists in BiH and a lot of Croatian money has been spent to make sure it stays Croat. It is curious to me though, I hate it when people act like Bosnia isn't Bosnia.

I'm a little anti American so I agree.
BTW, what's the problem with having our own schools, when almost the same is granted for Serbs in Croatia re language and schooling. Here in Australia I can choose to send my children to a state school, a catholic school, a jewish school or a muslim school if I wish to do so. , I don't see a problem with that; it's where I see where the children will get the best education. In Bosna; face the fact that Croats were there and will always be there... and will always see it as their homeland, as Bosnian Croats first and foremost. I don't see anything nationalistic about that.

Had some great lasagne while there ;D Jajce is one of the few cities that the communities are working together again. I have a friend who lives there and the city is about 50-50% Croat/Bosniak. It was liberated by the HVO in 1995 and became a Croat stronghold. Since then things have changed for the better and is one of the few sign of sucess in Bosnia. Vitez is a showpiece of a town for Croat nationalists, it is well invested and very modern by Bosnian standards.

Statebriga is right, who ever burns the national flag should be punished according to law.

I don't see anything nationalistic about that.
