Means... Arxilea.. we gonna be Macedonians.. and they will gonna be Upper or Northern or whatever Macedonians..Almost like relatives... Basili Fyrom rejected those names, get informed levendi ! Last proposal from Nimitz was for Fyrom to forget their antique past as he put it, nicest way of saying to them "You have no history" The way things are going, they might as well not get a single mention of "Macedonia" in their name what’s so ever. They’ve shown they aren't willing to compromise. @ terror_reign you're asking for a bruising now.

....and keep going.. ;D Brussels 25/07/2008 Letter sent by the President of the European Commission, José Manuel BARROSO to the Prime Minister of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia,Mr Nikola GRUEVSKI "Dear Prime Minister, Thank you for your letter in which you raise a series of important issues. The Commission is strongly attached to the respect of fundamental rights and freedoms. Nevertheless, it is important to clarify that the European Union has no general competence to deal with issues such as identities of minorities, their rights, acquisition of citizenship and restitution of properties, arising in its Member States. This is the primary responsability of the Member States in the light of their constitutional traditions and international obligations. I hope that this clarification is helpful.I regret, however, that the bilateral relations between your government and the government of a neighbouring country, Member State of the European Union, are facing these problems. A fundamental aspect of having a European vocation is to approach such difficulties with a constructive and cooperative spirit, open to dialogue and to finding an agreed way forward. Maintaining good neighbourly relations remains essential for the progress of your country towards the European Union.Yours sincerely," EVERY SENTENCE ONE SLAP!! ;D ;D

macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/2591/48/"Macedonian" flag confuses Chinese Security Officials Wednesday, 30 July 2008 Saso Popovski competing in single kayak discipline was the first "Macedonian" to arrive at the Beijing Olympic village. The first thing Saso did was displayed two large "Macedonian" flags from the balkony of the Building B6. The flags were noticed by Chinese Security Officials who mistook them for the Tibet Flag. Tibet is a Chinese province which became independent in 1913, however became part of People's Republic of China in 1951. China has made clear it wont allow any political messages displayed by neither national teams nor fans. Popovski got a knock on his door. - "I was surprised to see security at the door. I had put the flags out as soon as I settled in the apartment. The security asked me to take the flags down, however, I refused and told them they are "Macedonian" flags. The International Olympic Committee got involved and explained to the Chinese, the flags are not Tibetan flags. The security people were very embarrassed and apologized dozen times. I went to protest to the IOC Office, but they didn't know what to say, at the end it was too funny.” concluded Saso. Apart that the "Macedonian" and Tibet flags do have some resemblance, they are clearly very different. It's difficult to imagine how can you mistake it for a Tibet flag, unless the Chinese security had worked up a wild imaginaiton while looking up. "Macedonia's" Olympic Team had gotten a free press coverage and the Olympics hasn't even started. “Now everyone is staring at our flags” says Saso. The "Macedonian" flag also resembles the Japanese War Flag, which is fixated in the Chinese mindset since WW2. The Japanese Army and Navy had caused heavy damages and killed hundreds of thousands of Chinese. It is safe to say, not too many Chinese would purchase or cheer for the "Macedonian" flag. lol lol lol

..and keeps going.. www.balkaninsight.com/en/main/news/13098/EU Envoy to Macedonia Queries Premier's Claims Erwan Fouere12 September 2008 Skopje _ Claims by Macedonia's leader that the "name" row with Greece is the only obstacle to EU membership are inaccurate, the EU ambassador, Erwan Fouere, said on Friday. Macedonia showed it lacked the institutional capacities to tackle violence and irregularities in the June elections and still has problems with political dialogue, Fouere said, adding that these shortcomings should not be minimized. "Macedonian citizens are not stupid, they are intelligent and they must be told the truth," the EU representative said. Last week, the Prime Minister, Nikola Gruevski, said that however well Macedonia carried out needed reforms, the country would still not be given a date to start EU accession talks. The country has been hoping that the European Commission will recommend a date for talks in its annual report on Macedonia this November. There is still time to meet the EU's requirements, if the government focuses on problems and stops blaming forces outside the country, Fouere continued. However, Gruevski remained unrepentant. "I have already said that they will focus on something else if they do not mention the name," he maintained, after Fouere spoke. Opposition parties and Macedonia's President, Branko Crvenkovski, have criticised Gruevski for what they say is an attempt to abdicate responsibility for Macedonia's EU and NATO bids. Greece objects to the use of the word Macedonia, arguing that it implies a territorial claim towards the northern Greek province of the same name. In April, Greece blocked Macedonia’s NATO invitation, citing the unresolved row, and has threatened to do the same with regards to the EU. Talks aimed at resolving the 17-year dispute have been continuing under UN auspices but have proved fruitless. Macedonia has been an EU candidate since 2005 but Brussels has so far postponed setting a date for accession talks.

Shame on them (FYROM and Gruevski) - Video from ET3 news !The commercial is paid by the government... "mr" Gruevski is having a real mental problem, i now with no doubt believe that he thinks that he is Alexander the Great himself ! The commercial starts at 1:25 and if you see it, you will understand which is the enemy they imply and have to fight (when a soldier says that they are 5 times more than they are!). Shame on them when they say that they don't claim our history and our land, shame on Gruevski.

FYROM president sees possible freeze on negotiations this year
The president of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Branko Crvenkovski, believes that talks between his country and Greece over the name dispute could be frozen this year. “We are now at a decisive and very sensitive stage of negotiations,” he told Reuters. Crvenkovski said that UN mediator Matthew Nimetz has presented his ideas and the two countries will decide whether to accept or reject them as early as next month. “If this attempt fails, I fear that the negotiation process of finding a solution to the difference will be frozen,” the FYROM president said, adding that he would not expect a new initiative to be launched until the second half of 2009, as FYROM is holding local and presidential elections in March and Greece will elect members of European Parliament in June.
