1. Can anybody tell me what does it mean "pelasgs" in Greek? 2. If Greeks were Pelasgians (as some scholars pretend see History Forum - Ancient Greece ) why did Greeks change the name to Hellens?

Why did the Illyrians change their name to Albanians?

Kanaris,
they didn't change the name...Albanians were one of many tribes of Illyrians...that used to live in Albanopolis, mentioned by Polibys I think...

That is a good question....who wrote our history? Judging by who wrote our history, one can easily draw conclusion as to how was our history written? What do you think?

Interpretation.... that is the problem. I have read a lot of stuff in the last 6 years here. For instance there are a lot of Mysias in your camp... that only do more harm to your cause.

Well if others want to jump on on this, they are welcome. I hardly need to dig my heels in another Albanians are Pelasgians topic. So far none of you have brought any proof. I am not saying they were Greeks.... Obviously they were the weaker of the two... assimilated into the fold...

I don't believe they were... but were assimilated into one of the tribes.
So who were the Greeks and why did they swallow up everything around them and left their impact like no other? Who were they and where did they come from..?

As far as i know they where Greeks. They may have been just another Greek tribe, in my opinion they where closely related to the Minoan and the Cycladic people, later Hellenized by the Achaeans/ Mycenaeans. They where Neolithic Greeks. They worshiped the mother goddess, lived in small communities and where people of the sea, sailors and fishermen, thus the name Pelasgians.

"they were neolothic greek"
this statement warrants a subsequent disregard to everything you will ever have to say about anything, it personifies everything that present days greek are, ridiculous!
