Really nice topic I must say in terms of replies.
Several Topics to address
1) Communism was a utopia toward which socialist states (USSR for example) were moving. Total equality in terms of distribution of natural resources and their byproducts and liquidated exploitation of the working class from the super-rich minority was the motto. Never to be archived (YET) as the people running these states would eventually become greedy (human nature I suppose once tested) and chose to revert back to days of open exploitation.
2) Socialism was a road to Communism and each state tried often to do it their way. In Yugoslavia it was mixed economy (major industries were nationalized while a local mom and pop store was private) , USSR was more of planned economy while China in the early 1980s decided to remain socialist on paper (as communist are the ONLY rulers still today) and capitalist economically with great economic success.
3) Capitalism is a now archaic system that in its true form only exists in handful of countries (one of them being USA) and which is destined to revert to Social Democracy as it has in places in Canada, Australia, Japan and EU. Its very existence practically forces counter-existence of another extreme political idea this one leftist in nature (in fact one exists because of the other). Based on a false premise that economic 'progress' ('riches') will reach anyone who works hard enough which is inaccurate do to the fact that 'riches' are limited. If US annual economic output was equally distributed it would generate $40,000 per person to each US citizen (enough to live comfortably for most but not to be considered rich). Its nature is counter to the well being of nature (and us) as it is parasitic in nature (even more so then humans normally would be) as it will rip apart any natural resource to turn profit irregardless of any environmental consequences ( concern that is domain of the left).
4) Nazism is nothing but a branch of socialism with emphasis on a nation (in fact nazism is short for national socialism which is its full name) and where communism is not the final destination per say.
5) Democracy is probably most misused word in the political world today as it is used by both left and the right indiscriminately as being within their own domains. Ineffective concept do to the fact that most humans are not bright enough to follow their logic when voting and instead follow the herd (Read reports that 87% do exactly that which to me mean those should not have a right to vote period as they are equivalent to children rather then adults) which is something that Plato touched 1000s of years ago (hence which he came with a concept that only bright should be the rulers en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philosopher_king ) .
8) Personally I think all of these are archaic and outmoded concepts but each contain good and bad elements. Priority should be towards improving environmental conditions (call it Gaism or radically harmonizing ourselves with nature so we can survive as species) and improving overall human condition (after human numbers are somehow greatly reduced given that the world is disgustingly overpopulated and emphasis should be given to the survival of the fittest in terms of combined attributes of intelligence, fitness and health irregardless of race). Priority should be making it more in sync and harmony with nature as human are but are but a part of it. We are also (I would say already) in great peril caused by our hyper-consumption and hyper-exploitation of natural resources has put us in. Drastic corrections should be made within several decades max otherwise I doubt that human specie has a future that extends beyond 23-24 century when our distant descendants will live in virtual hell on earth where temperatures will be comparable to the age of dinosaurs over 50 million years ago (10-20 decrees higher on average then today thanks to impending methane release which will occur if global and ocean temperatures increase several more degrees). New system (Gaism) will have to emerge and overshadow old concepts that were made by people who could not have predicted the perils that humans are facing now. Also if there is a human need for religion then such has to be nature based so even there our relationship with nature would be further cemented. More elevated minds could follow philosophically inspired religions (although there should not be any need for religion in the future as humans should evolve beyond that).
