Greece and Serbia have had a longstanding relationship based on Greek aid, economic interdependence, common Orthodox heritage, and historical enmity against the Turks Serbia :Serbian-Greek Royal Family

"I ask Novi this: how many people in the world say "Serbia" and not automatically associate it with ethnic cleansing and genocide?"
Yes that is true to a degree, mainly with the general public, who are not generally interested to further reseach the in's and out's of the fall of Yugoslavia, they all just take the media's word. A good example of the media whipping up sympathy for their cause and demonising an enemy was the propaganda spin of an lean man behind barbed wire fence in a supposed concentration camp over in Bosnia.....l believe this and many other incidences (flawed ones) will be revealed in the future.

It is going to be the New Year soon. That is what I think. I am going to drink some champagne and watch thingy Clark. I cannot believe he is still alive!!! Your post was very interesting nevertheless Kanaris. I admire the Serbs but they have isolated themselves so much but I feel that they have been betrayed by the west. It was a big mistake for the west to lose Serbia to the long arm of Russia. But hey, it has always been east vs. west and I am not sure where Greece fits into that equation. Greece is like a mix of both. I guess Greeks know how to play both sides of the ball. We didn't isolate ourselves. The whole policy of sanctions/isolation stem from the fact that during the August Coup in the USSR in 1991 several prominent Serbian officials declared their support for the coup plotters (some parliamentarians even wanted the Serbian parliament to issue a declaration of support to the coup). Basically, as soon as the coup was defeated the wests attitude changed from being pro-Serb to being "Oh look at the Serbs, they supported the coup. They have the same mentality as Palestinian terrorist groups, Saddam and Quaddhafi.""

I think the Bulgarians and the Greeks are much more similar today. They are modern thinking, no that natyionalistic as in the past, orthodox, and unlike with Serbian, Bulgarian and Greek ARE in the Balkan language union. Also culturally, the Bulgarians are mostly influenced by the Greeks.
