Well hopefully some of you understand why I would like to have a Sub Forum dedicated to the Balkan Armed Forces. It would be a great opportunity to research the Yugoslav Civil Wars in detail, as well as update everyone on the current status of the Armed Forces. The Army is a big part of who we are in today's society, as the current policies, and border to some extent, were drawn by the gun. So I would like to know if we could have a Sub Forum that goes something like this... Balkan Armed Forces (SF) - Army (SB) - Air Force (SB) - Navy (SB) We could discuss everything to do with the Past/Present/Future armies, wars, battles, equipment, tactics, and etc. Would be great to see how much people know and research, and how much people appreciate what people have been fighting for. Just want to ask everyone here what their opinion is. I know we have a Military and Wars Sub Forum, but almost nobody ever visits it. I want to make this to be a Forum under the General Forums up top, and I'm sure people will take an interest in it if it is up top. I'd like to be a moderator for it, as I promise to keep it very clean and professional. Any thoughts?

Does sound like a bad idea. Let me analyze it over the coming days and most likely implement it.

LOL. Sounds good. I'll try and advertise it. I was wondering if you could make it into an announcement? Just to see what the people from all the different forums think of it, so I don't have to post it dozens of multiple times.

I figure it might be popular with primarily males.
I made it into an announcement.

Yeah I'm thinking of creating a separate board on the subject. You have no idea how much stuff there is to be covered.

Is it just gonna be like this or is there an actual subforum going to be made about the balkan armed forces?

If I see a need for one (meaning enough threads) then I will create an additional SB.
It is not a calculus exam.

I would have it separated into Balkan Military which talks about the current countries and their armies, etc. and the other one Balkan Wars (military history).

and the other one Balkan Wars (military history).
except balkan wars does not exactly fall into history to me such as Kosovo 1999, FYROM several years back or events from even early 1990s. to me at least 20 years has to pass for some distance to appear in order to clearly separate and distance present from past.

Hopefully this is not going to turn into a dick-measuring forum.

Greek Cavalry was impossible to exsist during the 400 years of the Ottoman occupation of Greece, since there was not any kind of Greek tactical army either. The first serious attempt to form a cavalry unit, is the one organized by Alexandros Ypsilantis in Phoxane of Moldavia (back then, Russian Bessarabia), in early March 1821 . Modern Greece's Cavalry, appears as a tactical force for the first time, in April 1822 , in Naphplion. Tail Coats
