Got this on Albanian.com F4 Phantom 2 multi-role aircraft Originally built to a US Navy specification the McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom was quickly adopted by the USAF and Marine Corp and became one of the mainstay aircraft in several airforces around the world including Great Britain's RAF and Germany's airforce. Capable of pushing mach 2 at altitude on it's twin engines this high performance aircraft had an operational ceiling of over 70,000 ft depending on the version and could carry up to 8 AAMs or 16,000 lb ordnance externally.

Watch out for those intakes. If you're not careful, in you go!!!!
Awesome aircraft. Old platform but a very good record.
I'm glad that they did not go for the F-14. Too much preventive maintenance involved, which cost a pretty penny.

Considering an Albanian pilot will take down 10 Greek planes, It's well over enough.

Albania should invest more money in the police force and less in the military to get under control with the criminality which ravages the country. They should have a military force of 7,500 employed to control the borders and in case of natural and terror catastrophes.

Considering we are getting the Euro fighter and were membors of the European Union and Nato i am just going to laugh at your comment. Albania stands no chance with Greece. We have the technology, training and numbers to deal with you. But how does that matter when Greeks lack the capability to fight? We all know you're just as useful in a fight as a woman. Greeks cannot fight. You lack heart, soul, courage and honour. Without these you're just an well equipped idiot.. ;D

Not to mention that Albania will soon be in NATO and EU. Just like you. What will happend then? Our army will be just as great as yours, but we know how to fight.. Greece is doomed Every Greek man civilian as soldier, from the age 18<X will die. Rest will be sent to Turkey.

How does it matter when you bought the planes we're buying today? It about knowing how to use the plane Not having the best ones. Because when we shoot them down you'll regret buying a plane that will destroy the country's economy Greeks are the best soldiers, oh really ? HAHA And you got the history to back it up ? HAHAHA even funnier What history ? The one you stole? Which soldiers? Spartans? The nongreeks ? AHAHAHA Go to bed, youre dreaming you idiot.

Remember one thing when you try and pin us with AIDs: Albania has a lower % of AID's victims then Greece. Albania still remains a far more conservative society then Greece. One night stands are still a rare thing. Can you say the same for Greece?
Secondly, its Tirana/e, not Tyranna.

I don't think investing money in military equipments is a necessity, the police force is more important. Any occupation of Albania would be a occupation of European territory and therefore Europeans countries would join the Albanian side.

I wonder how much Albania would profit from selling their military equipments such as weapons and planes, if they reduced the military force to 7,500 men. Anyone who knows how much the current military force is?

Greek soldiers are some of the best in the Balkans because they get excellent training from the American forces: Marines and Greek soldiers working together in Kyparissia, Greece Marine giving weapons training to Greek soldiers:

Too bad they aren't purchasing F-22 Raptors for total air superiority. Albanians can't get it right. Theres no use in having planes if your enemy has better planes, cause he will just shoot yours down.

Albania has to start somewhere, even if they have to buy F-4's. Albania is poor and just getting started after 500 years of Ottoman oppression and 70 years of Soviet stupidity.

Forget about a strong army in a country without a strong Economy! Today the trend is UNION, so one country doesn't need to be that much armed IF not a superpower. Superpowers take decisions: the rest simply joins it. In order to be armed, the country needs to be superpower, and to reach that means to have a strong Economy and ALLIES!!!!!!!

albpatriot18,
I believe the news may very well be accurate and about old models, most of Albania's military equipments are old.
