Come on guys! The ultimate hero is the one that sucrificies the more.
Emmanouel Pappas was a banker and he was also among the ones who were among the "lucky" ones since Soultan in Konstantinople like him. He had 5 sons and 4 daughters.
He lost ALL his property. He became among the most wanted ones for Soultan. His 4 sons died in battles around Greece. His 2 doughters and his wife were improsoned in Konstantinoupoli from Soultan. He died far away(Hyrdra island) from his homeland, hidding as a refuggee, without seing his Macedonia free.
If that was not sucrifice... then what is it?!

"Hoverer majority were of albanian blood but i prefer Marko Bocari" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not only Albanians. There are also very serious rumors that in the Greek revolution, Alaskans, Japanese and Tibetians were the majority of the gorillas.
There are also photos of Marco Botsari and Lascarina Bouboulina with Mexican hats.
Really!! Tito,Stalin and Hotza told me so!!

Markos Botsaris and his family, an answer to those who believe he was Albanian and not Greek..... SEVEN QUESTIONS ABOUT MARKOS BOTSARIS! 1.who killed Marko's father?Born in the region of Souli in Epirus, he was the second son of captain Kitsos Botsaris who was murdered in Arta in 1809 by order of Ali Pasha. 2.Who conquered Suli in December 1803?During the Souliote War in December 1803, the Souliotes began evacuating Souli after their defeat by the forces of the local Ottoman-Albanian ruler, Ali Pasha. 3.what was the profession of his son?Markos's son, Dimitrios Botsaris, born in 1813, was three times minister of war during the reigns of Otto of Greece and George I of Greece 4.what was the profession of Marko's daughter?
His daughter, Katerina "Rosa" Botsaris, was in the service of Queen Amalia of Greece. 5.what about his relation to the Filiki Eteria? In 1814, he joined the Greek patriotic society known as the Filiki Eteria. 6.what about Marko's brother?Markos's brother Kostas Botsaris (Constantine), who fought at Karpenisi and completed the victory, lived to become a general and senator in the Greek kingdom. 7.How did Markos die?On the night of the 21st August 1823 he led the celebrated attack at Karpenisi of 350 Suliots on 4000 Albanians who formed the vanguard of the army with which Mustai Pasha of Skodra/Shkodër was advancing to reinforce the besiegers. The rout of the Turks was complete; but Botsaris himself fell. As a logical conclusion, not only Botsaris and the Suliots participated in the Greek revolution of 1821,but they also fought against Albanians in several battles. www.mlahanas.de/Greece/History/Portraits/MarkosBotsaris.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markos_Botsarisen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kostas_BotsarisFinally,one last question....Ibrahim pasha of Egypt, son of Muhammad Ali Pasha was a fierce enemy of the Greek revolution. If the Battle of Navarino did not happen,Greece would probably not exist today, because of him.Which was his nationality? yes,you guessed right! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Ali_of_Egypt

Laskarina Bouboulina was the only female member of the secret patriotic organisation "philiki eteria".Some people also say she was albanian.Arvanites offered their life for the freedom of Greece. On the other hand they did absolutely nothing for Albania. They proved that they were people of greek concience by fighting and often dying for Greece. Many times, they faced Albanian muslims as their enemies during the revolution of 1821.So,some people here may claim that they were possibly people of albanian ancestry but also of greek national concience.I believe that everybody can realise the difference between the two.

Albanian song dedicated to bubulina (Storm roar in Albanian ), there are Albanians today named bubulina. Μπουμπουλίνα - Bubulina Marko Boqari Eelias Mamalakis For what he said in these documentaries he was fired from his job This News covered by Albanian media "Ο έφηβος Μάρκο Bocari, διάδοχος Boçarëve φωτεινό σπόρων, των Αλβανών καταγωγή, μετά την εισαγωγή στο γαλλικό στρατό, άρχισε να διδάσκει την ελληνική, γιατί ήξερε δεν την Ελληνική γλώσσα, μόλις ολίσθησης και στην προσπάθεια να τους φέρει μάθουν, ακόμη και έγραψε το πρώτο λεξικό της αλβανικής-Έλληνα, που είναι σήμερα η Εθνική Βιβλιοθήκη του Παρισιού. And the first Albanian-Greek dictionary written by Marko is a Kryptonite for your Greeks because it is proof that Marko and the Suliots are Albanian.

don't listen to rex. the woman above has a big nose, could be jewish, greek,, i dont care. she does not look albanian. we dont need any heros;we got plenty. Your heroes are the Turk Albanians such as Ali Pasha, Mohamed Ali of Egypt, Ibrahim Pasha and the other Muslim Albanians that fought for the Ottoman Empire. Nothing more, know your place in history.

Greek1234
The way I see it all these people that you mentioned were the military cast in the Balkans (Albanians), serving the empire as everyone else did and a way to get rich and make money. The same way you Greeks served the empire in administration while you patriarchate (Orthodox Church) kissed the hand of the sultan. We all served the empires and conquers that invaded the Balkan peninsula.
And we Albanians know our place in history, the problem here is that you Greeks don’t want to know or care. Don’t forget that we Albanians as a people resisted the Turks more than you and Albania has been more than any land in the Balkans (except or the same as Wallachia and Transylvania) a land in constant rebellion against the Turks. It was this constant rebellion and disobedience that gave you Greeks the courage to rebel.

"The Albanians who have been shedding their blood for the empire for the last five hundred years, do not want its perdition, even though they realise it is determined to destroy itself and be cut up among its enemies. The Albanians will continue to the very end to spill their blood for the empire and will maintain their allegiance as they have in the past. When they finally obtain a good government, one which is sufficiently stabilized, they will then be able to assist Turkey more and better. "( Sami Frasheri. Η'ka qene, η'eshte e η'do tλ behete? Mendime per shpetimt te mλmedheut nga reziket qe e kane rethuare, Bucharest 1899. Translated from the Albanian by Robert Elsie) and additionaly to show your rebelious spirit you converted , the vast majority of Albos, and became proper Osmanlis...willing to " shed your blood for the empire" and " assist Turkey more and better" as the above "father of the Albanian nationalism" wrote...

“The father of Albanian nationalism” I don’t know about that, but the more I read about The league of Prizeren the more I am convinced that it was all a sultans ploy perpetrated by his agents and using the Albanian national feelings (protecting lands inhabited by Albanians) in order to protect the empires lands while the empires hands were tied by its rivals and treaties.
And as for as converting, what do you expect the Turks to do to disobedient people that constantly rebel (Dursam Bey, during the second siege of Kruja "The Albanians have been born to resist and disobey"), you would expect them to use every method in the book to make them obedient or wipe them out. During Gjergj Kastrioti resistance the Turkish sultan went as far as calling Jihad on Albanians, some of us have change religion but we still maintain our identity (a lot of muslim Albanians have muslim first name and Christian last name, maintaining the family identity).
On the other hand you Greeks after the fall of Byzantine empire you as a people did not resist at the orders of your holy church which bowed down to the sultan and kissed his ring, for this you had it easy no need to use any methods to convert you because you were already obedient children of the sultan and the orthodox church was his wife.
