No Grek is the standard form.
It's neither. It's just a bastardation.
Grek has more degrading aspect to it than Gricki which is something that me and my friends made up.

You guys can call me 'gamimene koloalvane' thats what Pyrhdo calls me... ;D Sounds like a terminal illness. Doc: Logjik, I'm sorry to tell you this, but you don't have much time. You've been diagnosed with "Gamimen Koloalvane." Logjik: In that case I will convert to Orthodox Greek. There will be one less Greek in the world. (You need to be a optimist in these type of situations) The truth is some Albs in Greece behave like Compton nigs..very confrontational..sort of a rabid dog.... and we all know what we do to rabid dogs... The mistreatment of a new immigrant group is nothing new. Italians and the Irish for example were mistreated when they first came to America. These ethnic groups were hardly "dogs." As for Greece, the only ones you treat like dogs are the ones that refuse to assimilate.

Of course they do. We're not denying that Kanaris. Every ethnicity has people like that. Are you telling me that there are no Greeks in the USA that behave like that; or that are involved in illegal activities? What I was saying to Kastor is stop the BS. For example the word Greek could be used to stereotype a gay person; depending on the situation, the conversation and how it is said. Some Greek people may find that offending. That was my whole point. Meaning; that your ethnicity may be used as an offensive word by using it as a symbolism of the stereotypes of that ethnicity.

This stuff with Albanians happens only in Greece. The most unstable and poorest EU country. After Romania. Ok...can you please take all the alvanous from here and move them to Bulgaria?

I had the impression the Albanians from Greece are leaving. Some are going back home. Some are going to other places. I've met a few in Canada as well.

I have to agree with Isomniac on this issue. It cant be so simple like the newspaper says. ..and taking the fact the rough character of a Cretan house builder... I'm sure it was a racist comment. What troubles me is... how normal is to land a hammer on the head of someone.. even if you dont like him. .even if he has insulted you. Thats the question.. and that shows primitive way of thinking.
PS. and by the way Isomniac, about the stubbed Albanian football supporter that all you Albanians have made it a flag of your arguments for racism in Greece and bs. like that.. I will tell you one thing: Every Sunday, in every football match... you never go with your team's colors in the middle of the gathered opponent football suporters. Many many more Greek football funs have been stubbed from other Greek in many incidents... Use simple logic! I

Lol so the dude hitting the other dude with the hammer has a primitive way of thinking while the dudes that stab people on football games have not a primitive way of thinking? Albanian primitive for using hammer; Greek not primitive for using knife? Fact of the matter is that there are people like that amongst both Greeks and Albanians; with a primitive way of thinking that wouldn't think twice about taking a life if they are insulted be it from wearing the colors of another country or from a racist rant thrown at him/her. Racism exists in all countries and among all ethnicities. What's wrong with the picture however is that most of you guys deny its existence in Greece. Maybe racism is the wrong word when it comes to the fan that was stabbed; but certainly that murder stinks of xenophobia. It exists among all countries and you are not special in any way. Members of your society are xenophobic just as are members of our society. Hiding that fact or defending them just means that you also are a xenophobe or a racist and in the same situation chances are that you would behave the same. By the way, this is not directed at you Basil.
Agreed a racist rant does not mean that the person should lose his/her life.

Of course its not normal to pick up a hammer. But he probably got called every day something until he lost control. I would've just talk back to the person. And then i wouldve kicked his a$$. No weapons. nothing. Just hands.
Chances are two crazy people met each other. The racist greek dude met a crazy albanian and got the hammer into his head.

Greeks are xenophobic.. and all Balkanians are xenophobic. Thats a fact. We had many wars in the balkans.. and its normal people to be xenophobic. Now.. "racist attacks".. is a different issue and here Greece has nothing to do with it! In Greece.. after almost 20 years of foreign illegal inflow.. there are no more than 2-5 racist attacks from person to person just because of race issue. In Germany, in England, in France etc etc.. almost every week organized group of people burn houses! of immigrants.. with immigrants inside!. Almost every week locals attack non-locals! Thats "racist attack"! PS. and yes.. hooliganism is primitive.. but somehow.. "accepted" primitivism ;D in western societies. Its a way to let people "take out" their pressure. Small "fight clubs".. Even governemnts like it; "let them take out their pressure every Sunday in a football match.. than in the state itself". Is the best way to control the energy of the people..

That "lost control".. is very common thing among Albanians.. and Cretans.. I have to admitt. So.. most propably that usual "lost of control" has to do with "primitive" people and societies...

You have ALL failed to aproach the heart of the problem, both Greeks and Albos. As i have realised all these years, these people are VERY vengeful and that is the reason they have commited so many murders in Greece. The Albanian pride is something VERY sensitive and when they think that they have been insulted, they feel free to use a knife/axe/kalashnikof...As a matter of fact i remember plenty of albanian crimes that have happened for reasons of honor. And each time this happens my heart is full of unger and peril.

"An Albanian's sense of honor is not merely external. He will murder you without remorse if he conceives that you have insulted him". www.promacedonia.org/en/hb/hb_8_1.htmlTruer words have rarely been said... I dont understand, I thought you Greeks could easily dispense with us turkalbanians? I thought that you slaughtered us by the thousands and were never terrified of the Turk icoglans? And yet here we are your compatriots are terrified of Albs?
