FanNoli Kasso isisgoing bordura - SuperAlbaniaN - teuta1975 ^ do you mind if i can get your opinion on this topic since yous are regular posters. doesnt matter if its positive or negative. thanks Where do you see me comparing them? I stated I dont want any of these missioners in my country wether it is Christians or Muslims and it doesnt necessarily has to be Wahhabism. You have Churches there and thank God for the net to get all the information necessary if interested. Who ever wants to convert is fine with me, but why having others come over and offer you few bucks or other AID to devote yourself to their belifs and automatically become religious. Sorry, but I have hard accepting it. i understand. i also dont agree with them giving aid or some money so they will convert. if they are doing that, then i'm against that. i think thats wrong. i mean people should give money and aid regardless. i also think that if people are trying to get others to convert to their faith, they shouldnt give anything, except let them know about their religion if the person wants to know. also the vatican isnt sending people from rome or anywhere else to try to convert people in kosovo,... its the albanian catholic priests and catholic albanians of kosovo who are trying to get new converts in kosovo. any help from the vatican is given through the catholic albanians of kosovo .

I'm against Christian Albanians aggressive approach towards Muslim Albanians. They should leave us alone with their religious doctrine.

tyson can you state and outline the issue as you see it?
from the above thread it is kind of difficult because it has emotional interpretations and reactions of a fact that we do not know in detail.
Most of Albanians i know of are spiritually religious and not practicians (is that an English word or i just made it up?) of religion itself. Humanly they act like any human being has acted toward the big unknown. They instinctively tend to explain the unknown with a superior force. Organized religions try to penetrate that realm by trying converting them to a specific religion.
If you organize the issue/question on your words I'll try to express my opinion and it will make for a clear equal starting point to contribute. Otherwise I'm afraid we will talk for different things as you can see from above replies...

the article in the first message of this thread has an inflammatory selected language. It has in purpose chosen to deform a simple fact. it is not such a plan or project in action as this article claims. for that reason i see the hole thread as a reaction to something that doesn't exist in fact as a plan. every religion or denomination does invite people to become members in their free will .we do not have statistics to judge who is becoming what. and if this is a new trend, an old trend, or and equally sided phenomenon. for one thing we are sure it is more freedom in Kosovo now then before regarding religious issues so a slight increase might be observed on all sides. anyway tyson if you can raise a clear question that you want to know the answer... the article is taken out of Trumpet.com published from Philadelphia Church of God here what they stand for: Philadelphia Church of God has a policy that its members may not associate or fellowship with present or former baptized members of Worldwide Church of God unless they presently attend the PCG. If a person was baptized in WCG, or any of the other splinter groups and does not currently attend the PCG, then members of PCG may not associate with them. This policy extends to and includes their own family members. [/u]

Tyson!!
My opinion on this is that Wahhabism and Anglo-saxon Evangelism has absolutely no place in Albania.
If i was the prime minister with exceptional power i will ban anybody from these two sects from entering my country. The only religions i support in Albania is the byzantine-style orthodoxism, ottoman-empire style islam [bektashism], and catholicism.
I don't think anybody should convert to anybody, although i do think it is better for Albanians to follow European and Western values. I think the Islam of Ottoman Empire was moderate and has its good values along with its bad values. I don't support the construction of new mosques that have happened in my country. I don't support the construction of new evangelical churches which are American/British style that have happened in my country.
I think they are foreign and an insult to our way of life. They are a danger to tolerance and will destroy our identity if we don't do something about it.
On the other hand i'm happy that my people dont care about religion which makes these missionaries job a hard mission to achieve. I do think there should be more government control in this aspect of life.

thanks for your reply, fannoli. i dont like the anglican/protestant/lutheran church either, or all those other newer sects like baptists, uniting, calvinist, evangelical church etc...
the mormon church also known as "the church of jesus christ and the latter day saints" or "jehova's witness" is not even christianity to me. its a totally new made up religion.
the 2 only legitimate churches to me are the catholic and the orthodox churches.
