Mesambria is a Thracian name and not a Greek town. There were som Greek colonist, allowed to settle there by the appointment of the local Thracians. Port towns were something like Hansa cities in the North of Europe. There were many other cities around the Euxine and Aegean coast and all did trade with each other. As a fact, Thracians did not allowed more than 10% of foreigners in their own towns/cities.

Messembria was a Greek colony, the origin of the name is irrelevant.

Ioan, tolkova li si religiozen che slozil tazi goljama snimka na curkva?! Namali ja pone, molja te.. Ne sum tolkova religiozen, prosto Nesebur mnogo mi haresva. Zatova si ya slogih. Drugata snimka e ot Turnovo. As for Ioan: Our glorious king in the Second Bulgarian Kingdome was called Ioan-Assan II and he was a great diplomate (one war-and the biggest Bulgarian expansion after Simeon). So it is not a Romanian name, its an orthodox name, old Balkan name, that could be met in other Balkan people. As for the church-its from Mesembria, an old Trachian city, now a very beautiful Bulgarian town. The style is Byzantine, but so what? The old Bulgarian churches were built in that style too.

I'm not familiar with Doviste and Dova, but I suspect it is a kind of funeral cermony held at locations with Bogomil tombs. I wouldn't recommend the net for information search on Bogomilism, most good sources are in Bosnian and those in English are mostly biased or not especially informative. I would however recommend you to visit your local or national library and lend several books in this topic, but note several! so you can compare the authors, and decide which one is nearest the truth - becasue even library books can be biased. I found the information about "doviste" in the Bosnian Wikipedia. I can't find it now, maybe someone changed the article. By the way, I understand Bosnian, so I searched the Bosnian sites. I feel sympathy for the Bosnian people, and I prefere the Bosnian pronunciation over the Serbian and the Croatian, because it's most melodic. You have a new theory, and you should back it up with facts. This is how I think. What was the language of the Bosnjani? What do you know about it, do you know some names of rulers of Bosnia? The first sources about bogomili are from 10th century, so this means that you are talking about Bosnia in 10th century. But it should be based on some facts. Nothing personal, but you bring up some new theory, and if you don't want it to be looked down, you should prove it convincingly.

Alright... I dont say that with no reason, Ruse. From what I've seen (except these charter catalogues) much is about monasteries - endless numbers. I've been working in the tourism market, both in BG and SE before.. and I know what I'm talking about.. No one cares about BG monasteries. My Bulgarian colegues did one "special" tour called "Bulgarien Runt" from Sunny beach and Golden sands (even for charter tourists!!). Gues what - monasteries around BG!.. Lots of tourists ask why they were shown all those monasteries?! As some kind a strange "tradition".. many Bulgarians still do that, when making summer tours in BG. What about museums, historical sites and so on - there are plenty of them to visit!
Ruse I think you have a problem with all that turk issue, right?! You are quite an intolerant person. And please, don't talk to me like you know me, OK!
P.S. Pls, don't go off topic!

Gues what - monasteries around BG!.. Lots of tourists ask why they were shown all those monasteries?! Sorry but these tourists seem to have a problem. For example when I go to Dubai, I m interested to go to their biggest and oldest mosques and its not because I m muslim, but because I wanna see their religious history. Its the same with China or India or Indonesia. I d wanna visit their temples dedicated to Budda or whatever they are worshipping. The religious history is very interesting part of the history of a country. Plus last time I went to the Rila monestery, there were more Japanease than Bulgarians there. That means that it really depends on the tourist, if they wanna see a sacret place for the Bulgarians. If u talk about Swedish teens, of course they are uninterested. I saw them this year in Sunny Beach. They were interested in getting drunk and getting laid.

Ask Romanians where do they like to go since Romanians are the biggest tourists for your country! They pay you a lot of money!

In the very north of the Bulgarian part of the Black Sea (Kavarna, Balchik) this June I saw more Romanian cars than Bulgarians. I think most just drive to there, cause its near and find a hotel by themselves. Thus they chose where to go (I think most doesnt have organized excursions).
