Nice photos Nikola. I think next time, instead of spending the night in Leskovac or Nis, we stay at some nice hotel in Skoplje. Is there some "banja" in slavMakedonia, you know with mineral "kisela" water, etc? I know what you mean. Looking at all these developments, it's making me want to visit Skopje more and more. I don't know about any banji though, hopefully fossil can answer that one. Btw, I found a similar thread of Skopje on skyscrapercity created by Serbs. For anyone interested. www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=859016&page=29

In Ohrid again, an old monastery gets new roof tiles? It didn't seem to need them when I was there. Maybe they're restoring it too. i see some Greek words/letters there... don't destroy them please... which monastery is this? Ahrida despite its bulgarian population described by the Greek sources was always center of the Greek clergy and officials of the area, hence the Greek influence in architecture. edit: i found it is Agia Sophia. I can read other words like "didaskei"-teaches, "pansophos"-allwise, Gregor(ios),

i see some Greek words/letters there... don't destroy them please... They wouldn't destroy things like that. You need to give the people more credit because they are a lot more civilized than you think. I find it interesting though that there is actually Greek writing on that church in the first place, because it was allegedly built AFTER Old Church Slavonic became official in the region. Why would they still use Greek if that whole area was Slavic? It makes no sense to me.

Earliest estimation is the 8'th century which is still 200 years after the supposed Slavic destruction of everything.

Earliest estimation is the 8'th century which is still 200 years after the supposed Slavic destruction of everything. Slavs didnt destroy anything. They only built most of todays balkan cities (Draboljica, Janjina, Preveza, Kostur, Janjica, Kozani, etc...) Church however was in Byzantine hands. After 800 AD they (church) adopted the Greek language, hence the greek epigraphs.
