At a Croatian seaside resort in Opatija, Serbian President Boris Tadic and Croatian President Ivo Josipovic talked Wednesday of dropping the charges that date back to the bloody dissolution of the former Yugoslavia in the early 1990s, Radio B92 in Begrade reported Thursday. The lawsuits are filed with the International Court of Justice in The Hague and allege regional "ethnic cleansing" by each country. At a joint news conference, Tadic said an agreement to drop the lawssuits wouldn't give a reprieve to war crimes suspects from either country. "We are prepared for a compromise solution, but without invalidating the principles of justice and fairness," Tadic said in a report by the Croatian news agency HINA. "All those who have committed crimes must answer for them." The two presidents will meet again Saturday in Brussels at a European forum, the Beta news agency said.

If I was a Croat, and I was shallow enough to care what foreigners thought, I wouldn't want anybody to bring up what Croats did during the 1940s and 1990s. In the suit and counter suit that is bound to happen. Do you really want Croats to be shown in a bad light? I mean these are the only people in the Balkans who, without provocation, attacked UN soldiers because those soldiers were protecting Serb civilians from being massacred. Pick your battles carefully, Cikola.

Refuting him is less about refuting him and more about refuting the things he believes in.

What I really hope is that you're not as retarded in real life because that thought on it's own is just too horrible.

me too. josipovic is a pu.ssy. him dropping the lawsuit is a slap in the face to the victims of the war, and the unwarranted destruction of our towns. justice must prevail over politics and diplomacy. i wish for good relations with serbia, but not at at the expense of justice.

Check out my profile's URL for a better idea. me too. josipovic is a pu.ssy. him dropping the lawsuit is a slap in the face to the victims of the war, and the unwarranted destruction of our towns. justice must prevail over politics and diplomacy. i wish for good relations with serbia, but not at at the expense of justice. You don't want justice. Justice would include Serbs wiping out a third of all Croats.

those lawsuits are ridiculous ! the word "genocide" can't be used for everything. There was a genocie against Jews, against Armenians etc ... but in the 90', the only recognized genocide is Srebrenica.

Since what happened in Srebrenica was at worst a massacre of POWs and at best a "conventional" battle, it's set a precedent to declare anything a genocide. I also don't understand the authority of either Serbia or Croatia. Serbia doesn't represent Krajina Serbs and Croatia wasn't invaded by Serbia. Krajina Serbs and ah hoc volunteers from Serbia fought against Zagreb. It makes as much sense as calling the war "Croatia's War Of Independence" as if Croatia's independence was being contested. This is all propaganda. The most sickening thing isn't the borderline genocidal authority in Zagreb accusing it's victims of genocide but how Serbian politicians use Krajina Serbs to gain political capital then dump them when they no longer need them. This isn't about justice or revenge, it's about politics. Politics between two of America's client states.

Josipovic doesn't have the powers to drop the lawsuit. It stays while the Croatian Sabor says it stays.

I hope the suit stays and Croats are humiliated just as the Turks were. Plus it flames the animosity between both governments which is good as far as I'm concerned. Thats so twisted it doesn't deserve a response. Yet you just responded. But I agree, the truth can be very twisted.

I suppose the JNA tanks that rolled over the border from serbia into Croatia were just on a sight seeing tour. And the shells that bombarded Vukovar actually came from Bulgaria. LOL.

I suppose the JNA tanks that rolled over the border from serbia into Croatia were just on a sight seeing tour. And the shells that bombarded Vukovar actually came from Bulgaria. LOL. They were either given or sold to Krajina. The volunteers weren't getting paid by Serbia and weren't getting their orders from Serbia. The only Serbian soldiers that fought there from the start were those on their way out when they started getting ambushed by Croatian conscripts. And be thankful that they used shells. If it was up to me I'd have used mustard gas and napalm.
