the only relation this song has with turkey is that its these songs were sung before and after killing a Turk... ;D..by klephtes. The whole song actually talk about the liberation of Korinthos in 1821 by Greeks and the kill of Kiamil beg... The roads of Moreas closed so did the dervends and so did the hanes for the horses and the djamis for the agasand a Turkish woman is crying for her son her son Kamil begthese pure Greek songs were song all over Greece, from Mani to Macedonia, by klephtes fighting tourkous and tourkalvanous, tracing their origins to the Acritic songs, of course with the common for over 2000 years fifteen syllables form). And the sound reminds extremely byzantine chants, since byzantine chants were based on more ancient Greeks music, pythagorian. the best klephtiko of all: Βαστάτε Τούρκοι τ' άλογα λίγο να ξανασάνω να χαιρετίσω τα βουνά και τις κοντοραχούλες ν' αφήσω διάτα στα παιδιά σ' όλα τα παλικάρια παιδιά μου μην κοντέψετε πίσω να μην γυρίστε όσο είναι ο Δίπλας ζωντανός Vastate Tourkoi t'aloga( while they transfer him imprisoned) a bit to rest to greet the mountains and the ridge to order the boys(the young klephtes) in all the palikaria don't turn back as long as Diplas is alive"hearing these songs i remembered.... bloody tourkoi and tourkalvanoi... we had a nice time kicking your asses in our mountains...

The majority of modern Greek music is based on ancient/byzantine music dromoi: the songs i posted before are not laments- moirologia( meaning words of Moires ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moirae). These are moirologia : the most famous and most archaic moirologi, the Maniatiko, with the ancient 8 syllable rhyme ...don't watch it if you are sensitive...:

What? Asian music has its own deep influences. It is a byproduct of Arabic tones and on the fact that instruments are not allowed in Sunni Islam recitations. Therefore vocals play a far more important role in the music/poetic recitation. Its different from lament music in PIE tradition. The bending of the vocals is typically oriental. Original lamentation music (in Greek, Albanian et al) holds the strain. Arabic tones are unique to their language: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabian_tone_system. They revolutionized it around the 8th century. Greek/Latin poetic constructions are very different from them and were reliant upon use of lyra and other string instruments. Not to mention that Arabs revolutionized music and majority of today's European music is directly influenced by the Arab achievements in Al-Andalus and Africa.

I didn't say that Arab music is a copy of Greek/Byzantine. But for sure since Alexander middle East was heavily influenced by Greeks(during the Diadochoi kingdoms, the Roman Empire and much heavily during Byzantion...thats for over 1500 years...).
I like Arab music, its very rich, in contrast to western and northern European traditional music which is very poor. Balkans are also rich too, in musical tradition. This is very arabic:

The music i really dislike and detest is the turkomongol music... which has no relation with the beauty of south European and middle eastern music:
