Croats in Bosnia halved because of our policy
The time will come when the politically elected representatives of all nations will recognize their mistakes, says Josipovic.
- I expressed my regret, look at the text; I really do not know why those who did not even read my statement are commenting it. I maintain regret for the wrong policies that have contributed to the suffering in Bosnia and also contributed to the suffering of the Croatian people. If those policies were valid, the number of Croats in Bosnia would not have been halved today - said President Josipovic on Friday. Josipovic is currently in Pecs where he is meeting the Serbian President Boris Tadic and Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom.
Josipovic added that he was sure the time would come when the politically elected representatives of all nations would recognize the mistakes that led to the bloody war. He noted that he gave his contribution and that he was happy that religious communities and political parties responded favorably.
- I walked Mostar and encountered citizens who approved this. I think that citizens are more forward-thinking than the Politians and they recognize the need to turn a new page and admit the errors of the past - Josipovic said.
Josipovic added that he was willing to meet with Prime Minister Kosor to discuss his statements, adding that he is always happy to meet with the Prime Minister, with whom he always has interesting and constructive discussions.
All three presidents called for a policy of conciliation and discussed issues such as national minorities, ecology and the rapid accession of Croatia and Serbia into the European Union.
Tadic came to Pecs in a bullet-proof vehicle because of the Serbian mafia
Serbian President Boris Tadic said that the three nations would live together under the European sky and enjoy lax borders once again. Due to the threat from the Serbian mafia, Tadic arrived in armored car, while Josipovic used vehicle from the fleet of the Hungarian president.
Prime Minister Kosor said on Thursday that the government welcomes every commemoration to each victim, for every victim deserves to be commemorated.
- Whoever talks about Croatia’s politics during the nineties should not skip the fact that the war in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was led primarily because of Slobodan Milosevic’s policies - Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said while commenting on Josipovic’s apology.
