What I don't like in Turkey is the tens of identical tall touristic buildings that rise next to the sea... absolutely ugly. I remember seeing them from Kos island.

It's nice to hear that you had a good time Donnie.
My favorite place is the Deadsea or called Oludeniz in Turkish. It is the Southwest tip of the Mediterrean sea meeting the Aegean sea. The beaches are white, and the sea looks turquoise. I went there years ago and really would suggest it.
I have also been to Kas and Kalkan, and they are also really nice. You can go on a tourboat for hours, go swimming and enjoy the weather.
In Fetiye , you can see the ruins of the Lydians.
I haven't been to Alanya and Side.
I also love Bodrum - it's not as hot as Antalya and it's a place where many Turks have their summer homes esp from Istanbul.

I know now that I have many places to visit in the southwest. I like these beautuful peninsulas and when mountain meets the sea.. and all these ancient places around Lydia and Lycia. I saw a nice pics of Butterfly Valley - such a nice spot, it's like a small fjord going into the sea!Marti Resort has a fantastic view as well (the pic I've posted before).. it will be my next holiday destination. Butterfly Valley
