Term "Saksonci" in Serbian is actually quite recent, we use to call those people Sasi.

Germanics in Slavic are known as "nemci" meaning mute Vlachs in Slavic are called "Vlachs" meaning foreigner

Germanics in Slavic are known as "nemci" meaning mute Vlachs in Slavic are called "Vlachs" meaning foreigner Severni Nemci su kod nas oduvek bili poznati kao Sasi, a ponegde kao Alemani.

In Romania as well there were German villages and Romanians called them "Sasi".
