Title Title: Graecia, Sophiani. Abrahamo Ortelio descriptore. Artist: Ortelius, Abraham Published: Antwerp, Christopher Platin Date: 1598 As you can see the original name of Graicia was still there and thats what others called it... although by now it was split in provinces... www.bergbook.com/htdocs/woda/data/demo/descriptions/16870.htm Illyris seems to be where Albania is today... Very interesting original map...

As you can see by 1730 thanks to the Ottomans the TourkoAlbanians were resettled on our lands.... it's amazing they exist as a country today even though the atrocities they committed onto the Greek populations.....

Get off our lands you historyless ones..... other than Ali Pasha you had no one else.... Even he didn't want to bother with albanian women and married a Greek one....
Look at the map and cry.... wait for it... there's a lot of Zervas's brewing in Greece..... Greeks are not Slavs.... they work in different ways.
How does it feel to be Albanian.... ?

ngrams.googlelabs.com/graph?content=Albanians,Greeks,Croats,Serbs,Bulgarians,Italians,Romanians,Turks,&year_start=1500&year_end=2000&corpus=0&smoothing=50 Check out this new feature by Google (it doesnt seem to go before 1500AD). Greeks, Greece, Hellenes and Grecians clearly appear from the start in books written during these times. Albanians appear in their variations it seems mainly 100 years ago but they start around 1700s. PS: Judging by the historical books written since 1500s Greeks, Turks and Italians are clearly visible on an international historical scene which can not be said about others who appear at best as barely visible historical sidekicks (Albanians being certainly among least visible even during these centuries). ngrams.googlelabs.com/graph?content=Croats,Servians,Serbs,Bulgarians,Albanians,Romanians,Illyrians,Bosnians&year_start=1500&year_end=2000&corpus=0&smoothing=50 PS2: Among 'sidekicks' Bulgarians and Serbs [under earlier names of Servians and Illyrians (these two in terms of time frames follow each other at early stages very closely) and finally as Serbs] are most noticeable. Albanians pop on the scene ~1650AD. (truth be told just after Serbs, Croats and Bulgarians). ( I would love for this particular Google gadget to extent itself beyond 1500AD)

The graphs are irrelevant in determining how long a certain people had existed. It just indicates when they appeared in books. If you look into the American Indian, for instance, they started to appear in books starting between 1550 and 1600, but they had existed for a very long time before.
