5 November 2007 An unnamed German government official said that Germany would recognize Kosovo independence if proclaimed, Koha Ditore writes.
“We have never said it publicly, but we, as well as our associates, will recognize Kosovo independence. However, it is too early to speak about that, before the process of the Troika is finished, where we expect some differences to be bridged, which will give more arguments to our European partners,” the Kosovo Albanian language daily quoted an unnamed source as saying.
The sourcesadded that this will be made clear to the Kosovo negotiation team as well, who will be in Berlin this week.
