I thought he was Dutch. Well, they despise the Germans, but they don't refuse their money... just like they don't deny using their skills. The only thing they refuse to do is work like them. Still, the Greek team deserves credit for being wise enough to adhere to his philosophy and for retaining discipline. If anything of the sort would be attempted with our teams, our players would turn against each other, finding weak links in other players and blaming any failure on them. Although, from the last two games I've watched Romania play (against Bosnia and Brazil), we have shown a level of maturity that I haven't witnessed since forever--with the small exception of Mutu's choice of not going to Brazil, but that is debatable.

You can not argue with facts, that's true. Still, I am a bit of a romantic when it comes to football and I can not remember teams who have won using defensive tactics. It is just for the statistics. But I do remember Brazil 1982 - the most marvelous team ever that unfortunately won nothing but the full respect of the fans.

Well, in 1970 World Cup, Brazil beat Romania 3-2 (Pele scored twice). We were the only team in the championship to have scored twice against Brazil. We won the admiration of the fans of the day and our effort was perhaps greater than the effort of other nations that have won trophies. But losers are not remembered.

Depends. The thing is that everyone here is way too young to remember this game. And losers are remembered, especially in their own country Till today everyone who is above 55 speaks about our w.ankers who in this very world cup lead 2:0 to Peru to lose the match 2:3.
