I think YugoSlavs often look distinctly Slavic/Eastern European. not all,the yugoslavs in south balkan look very much like albanians. I dont think these Serbian guys look like an Albanian.

cough cough .... hmmmm Drenica, Draga, hmmmm... do i see a pattern here? ;D Draga is Serbian/Slavic. Drenica however comes from the Albanian word for deer 'dren', and Drenica is pretty much an Albanian only only region. Yes, it also depends on where they are from, Northern-Albanians/Kosovars usually tend to be Dinarid and shorter-faced elements there are usually Cromagnoid rather than Alpinid inspired. Other than that there's also Atlanto-Pontid/Pontid which seems to be rather usual among Southern-Albanians and also in Central-Albania, and some Nordids (I'm Nordid influenced for example). And Ost-Europid, I believe. I think they came with Slavs, probably.

Serbians and Albanians often resemble each other because of higher percent of Dinarid phenotype, but on average, I think they look quite different and in fact, Albanians are stereotypically more Dinarid than Serbs who tend to be phenotypically very mixed. Serbs have a lot of Slavic admixture like the guys I posted above and that's what make them produce ''South Slav'' face. If Balkans lack Slavic amixture, I could imagine that they would look like an Albanian.

If you cross Polish with an Albanian, then it'd produce ''South Slavic'' look and Albanians probably how I imagine the old Illyrians looked like.

No need to imagine them mate, here you have them for real: The Illyrian King Genthius on his coin - year 180 BC If that's not a typical Dinarid and a typical Albanian face then I must be blind.

at that time the illyrians were under the roman empire....why would their king be wearing ethnic greek hats? where's the plis...though that's just greco-roman also

Romans wore Greek articles too. We're talking about the ancient world here. And you by default are acknowledging the Illyrians were Alb forefathers by admitting the plis is Greco-Roman.

Didn't some Illyrian tribes have a lot of Greek influence over them?
