Pyros what about the Turkish people about surnames ? Greece was also a part of the Ottoman Empire and these two countries have too many similarites and there are also sımilarities in surnames The Greek people who became Turkish had ethnically Turkish surnames, my family are Kemals and Jowhars which are ethnic Turkish surnames even though they're still racially Greek/Bulgarian. They're not going to have normal Greek names or Orthodox when they became Turks they would give them Turkish surnames.

OTOH Slavic presence has been a major taboo, almost forbidden to talk about even today as we speak.

Pyrros Pyrros, your screen names are sounding more and more like facebook status updates, Pyrros was once here, Pyrros is here to stay, Pyrros was at Illyria forums with Krivos I guess that's my way of nicely saying to you that this is not the thread for this kind of propaganda wars. Unless you had something to say about classifying this brother, then by all means latest nick of Gyros :"Gyros was with Novi- naughty thoughts in my mind "

more?? less??? what's your number? Well, oldest documents and research proved Serbs lived around modern Gdansk and Vistula river, so it gotta be more then just fucking 15%, so at least 30%

Just notice how conveniently you play by swapping on and off various periods of the past and now. loads of *old* slavic blood in peloponese (southern greece) bro... Was. Its a big question how much of Slavic blood there is in Peloponnese today. However the point was if the Greeks and Russians look alike, and the answer is pretty straightforward - NO Peloponese, Its the only place, where Slavs could not find an easy way out, (a way to freedom). Unfortunately those slavs were trapped and today greek souls live inside their slavic bodies. Certain surnames of south Greece : Drugas, Malisovas, Vukovalas, etc.... remind of the not so distant slavic past. Its a fu cking crime that they all attribute those names to Albanians, when it is evident as hell about their true origin... I simply asked are those current people of Peloponnese anthropologically similar with Russians? I think both you and me know the obvious answer more?? less??? what's your number? Well, oldest documents and research proved Serbs lived around modern Gdansk and Vistula river, so it gotta be more then just f**king 15%, so at least 30% You see that you will do whatever it takes to promote your own individual agenda without the slightest attention to being consistent? So the question stands : How many Serbs today look like Russians according to you? lemme tell you, from my observations, in many many many occasions main difference between Greeks/Serbs is height more often than color. And this is apparent in oldest generations, modern greeks are much taller, so even this observation tends to blur... Just a question, whenever someone refers to Slavs from north pole you get excited. Whenever someone refers to Slavs of the very south, you try to distant yourself from this. Why is that?

ulf is more eastern-slavic oriented, let him be.
also i think this might be a touchy subject with him pyrros bc his serb side actually originates from the deep south (macedonia)

Ulf has shown unwillingness to study anything south of Makedonia. Like when i brought up this : en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PreveliWe are talking about the most southern place in all europe. And the toponym is SERBIAN. There is no other language on earth which has the word "preveli". Yet, Ulf quickly dismissed any potential connection. Hmmm, when just some few km away lies the village "Seliana" and "Radovani", and some few km east lies the "Toplou" monastery, (*loaded* with Russian artifacts) i sure as hell would consider a link.

Just a question, whenever someone refers to Slavs from north pole you get excited. Whenever someone refers to Slavs of the very south, you try to distant yourself from this. Why is that? You mean Slavs from Greece? Yes I see them as Slavs, I don't think of them as different from Slavs living anywhere else, but there are no Slavs south of Greek Macedonia, and even those in Greek Macedonia are trapped there. IF there are Slavs in Peloponnese(not to mention Crete) as you say they would probably be independent country by so far, or at least their existence would be heard of. Also if they don't speak Slavic language(even if its some very deformed version of any Slavic language) then they're no Slavs.
