“Imagine a city where graffiti wasn't illegal, a city where everybody draw whatever they liked. Where every street was awash with a million colours and little phrases. Where standing at a bus stop was never boring. A city that felt like a party where everyone was invited, not just the estate agents and barons of big business. Imagine a city like that and stop leaning against the wall - it's wet. ” ― Banksy Banksy is a pseudonymous England-based graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter. His satirical street art and subversive epigrams combine irreverent dark humour with graffiti done in a distinctive stencilling technique. Such artistic works of political and social commentary have been featured on streets, walls, and bridges of cities throughout the world. Banksy's work was born out of the Bristol underground scene which involved collaborations between artists and musicians. According to author and graphic designer Tristan Manco and the book Home Sweet Home, Banksy "was born in 1974 and raised in Bristol, England.[3] The son of a photocopier technician, he trained as a butcher but became involved in graffiti during the great Bristol aerosol boom of the late 1980s."Observers have noted that his style is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris and members of the anarcho-punk band Crass, which maintained a graffiti stencil campaign on the London Tube System in the late 1970s and early 1980s and is active today. -------------- We can’t do anything to change the world until capitalism crumbles. In the meantime we should all go shopping to console ourselves.— Banksy, Wall and PieceThere have been numerous rumours and theories as to Banksy's identity. Names often suggested include Robin Banks and Robin Gunningham. Another theory is that Banksy is actually a collective of artists rather than a single person.Banksy, himself, states on his website:I am unable to comment on who may or may not be Banksy, but anyone described as being 'good at drawing' doesn't sound like Banksy to me

Fair point, but it seems abit ''rich'' from a guy who makes paintings about two police men kissing.

“There are four basic human needs; food, sleep, sex and revenge.” — Banksy“Think outside the box, collapse the box, and take a fucking sharp knife to it.” — Banksy“You’re mind is working at its best when you’re being paranoid. You explore every avenue and possibility of your situation at high speed with total clarity.” — Banksy“Some people become cops because they want to make the world a better place. Some people become vandals because they want to make the world a better looking place.” — Banksy (Wall and Piece) “People who get up early in the morning cause war, death and famine.” — Banksy (Banging Your Head Against a Brick Wall) “My main problem with cops is that they do what they’re told. They say ‘Sorry mate, I’m just doing my job’ all the fucking time.” — Banksy“Become good at cheating and you never need to become good at anything else.” — Banksy“If you want to say something and have people listen then you have to wear a mask. If you want to be honest then you have to live a lie.” — Banksy

“Graffiti is one of the few tools you have if you have almost nothing. And even if you don’t come up with a picture to cure world poverty you can make someone smile while they’re having a piss.” — Banksy “A wall is a very big weapon. It’s one of the nastiest things you can hit someone with.” — Banksy “The greatest crimes in the world are not committed by people breaking the rules but by people following the rules. It’s people who follow orders that drop bombs and massacre villages” — Banksy

“Brandalism -Any advertisement in public space that gives you no choice whether you see it or not is yours. It belongs to you. It's yours to take, rearrange and re-use. Asking for permission is like asking to keep a rock someone just threw at your head.” ¯ Banksy, Wall and Piece “Fight the fighters, not their wars.” ¯ Banksy “Policemen and security guards wear hats with a peak that comes down low over their eyes. Apparently this is for psychological reasons. Eyebrows are very expressive and you appear a lot more authoritative if you keep them covered up. The advantage of this is that it makes a lot harder for cops to see anything more than six foot off the ground. Which is why painting rooftops and bridges is so easy.” ¯ Banksy, Wall and Piece “Graffiti ultimately wins out over proper art because it becomes part of your city, it' s a tool; "I'll meet you in that pub, you know, the one opposite that wall with a picture of a monkey holding a chainsaw". I mean, how much more useful can a painting be than that?” ¯ Banksy“I don't believe in anything. I'm just here for the violence.” ¯ Banksy“People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish... but that's only if it's done properly.” ¯ Banksy “You owe the companies nothing. You especially don't owe them any courtesy. They have re-arranged the world to put themselves in front of you. They never asked for your permission, don't even start asking for theirs.” - Banksy

That's really good. The church, in my opinion, is the best.

Banksy had a guide to take him to Israel, and to find a wall.... he found one by the gaza and started painting, his guide starting freaking cause a soldier in a guard tower was holding a sniper while watching him. Banksy's answer: " shut up... I work best when I'm paranoid". thats the story behind this;

Most of it is meant to be new age or whatever like a bunch of lolly pops stuck together on a pillow. You know, that kind of s**t. Ya there's a fine line between what is art, and what is actual crap. There's some minimal art that goes for like $100 000's, and it;s like 1 brush stroke of yellow or somethin.
