it was specifically the kosovo albanians who became nazis, formed their own SS division like the bosniaks and croats (something the serbs obviously did not do), and sent serbs/jews to concentration camps.
that belgrade "juden free" rumor is really shaky information and unverifiable to say the least...all i can say is that belgrade didn't have any jews to begin with, and the serb quisling Nedic did not get any support from serbs.

There is much to say about the individual perspective of this time.
The Albanian fascist party at the time indeed joined the Hitler regime and recruited many volunteers for their S.S division. Their end-game wasn't about Jews at all, it was more about attaining "Greater-Albania" and eliminating anyone who opposed this Hitler-regime; Slavs, Jews, Gypsies.

There were 12 000 Jews in Belgrade before WWII, where did they all go if not into a camp? The Nazi genocide against Yugoslav Jews began in September 1941. Germany carved up Yugoslavia with most of it going to the fascist Independent State of Croatia, who established the notorious Jasenovac concentration camp to exterminate the Serbs and the Jews of Yugoslavia. In Serbia, the country was completely occupied by the Nazis. Jews from Syrmia were sent to Croatian camps, as were many Jews from other parts of Serbia. In rump Serbia, Germans proceeded to round up Jews of Banat and Belgrade, setting up a concentration camp across the river Sava, in the Syrmian part of Belgrade, then given to Independent State of Croatia. The camp, Sajmište, was established to process and eliminate the captured Jews and Serbs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Serbia

In the link it states most Jews left to Israel throughout the 90's.
90% of the Jews left in Serbia are in Belgrade, the rest are said to be in Vojvodina.
