I recently saw the comedy 'Superbad'. I expected just another teen movie, which although fun, were getting a little naggy. I did not expect much originality, and so I was quite hesitant to see the movie. But I was outnumbered by my friends .... and it turned out to be a sh!tload of fun. Trully hilarious movie. A short summary; three friends (well, two friends, one of them is atleast initially only being exploited by the others for the sake of his false ID) are anxious to loose their virginity before college. Sounds like a cliché -- how many times haven't we seen that type of movie!? Well, this one is still worth it.
Just one word summarizes how funny this movie is;
MCLOVIN!
Those who've seen it will understand.

really? I preffered Eastern to History. History was too americanised for me. Near the end in eastern when they get the baby... the scene where there are 2 drunk looking russians laughing n shouting in the street is very common to see in london. It makes u wonder whats really happening around you in the streets... It hit home with me!

Also this film mademe laugh out loud!! we watchedin the VIP salon.. only 4 rows of seats and everyone was so serious.. I made too much noise!! the way the dad speaks to the son and also the other very dry sarcastic sense of humour ... man its cool.

You're right about the father son talks, made me cackle too. lol I liked History of Violence only because it was presented like One crazy Joey against the whole Philly Irish mob and he gives it to them good. lol Those kinds of films make me glow with satisfaction.. Hitman is another pretty good tale about one CIA trained assassin who harbors no human longings or desires. www.imdb.com/title/tt0465494/www.imdb.com/title/tt0465494/photogallery

I saw Golden Compass too, yeh weak story, I agree and I would have thought it better than Narnia..but it wasn't. Today I did watch a slow but interesting film No Country for Old Men.. www.imdb.com/title/tt0477348/photogalleryIt might be alittle slow but those actors are really interesting to watch. Especially Brolin and Bardem. Both are pretty good, accent and all.

"Superbad" was really good.
"Eastern Promises" was good, but a bit short. The movie in a way, presents the Russians, Turks, Ukrainians, and Chechens very alike in terms of having tendencies for violence.
I also liked "The Breach", it was a good one.

I saw "I am a Legend" recently. Staring Wil Smith.
I just want to say that i am incredibly happy the movie was a different adaptation from the book. I read the book as well and I had my doubts that a direct translation to the silver screen would have done well...

The Departed
Cool movie, got a little messy at the end. The final twist was trully unexpected and I thought that all the praise I'd heard about the movie was justified. Many great names in the movie too ...
Memoirs of a Geisha
Unusual film, not usually my type. Got an insight into a very strange part of Japanese culture/tradition. Overall a really good movie ... not something I'd watch twice. The protagonist is really cute. The praise for its costumes was perhaps a little exaggerated in my opinion ... I expected to be "blown away" my brilliant colors. This was not the case.

The Departed was good..
Anyone see 'no country for old men'?
I kept me glued but the end was not what I expected... neither did I understand it fully... so if anyone saw it..i would like to hear their version of what really happened at the end.
