Globalism is pretty much unavoidable unless you want to be an isolated island of fail. With new technology and light-speed global communication we are rapidly becoming a one world economy. It's hard to place political borders on economic trade because it always leads to problems. I personally favor a free market and free trade and I think its paranoia to believe it is a threat to one's precious little nationalism. ironically, in the places in the balkans with strong USA-NATO presence, not only free-trade is denied, but new borders are placed where there used to be one single country, and paranoid new taxes are placed between ex-partners (just look at the new taxes imposed in kosovo for Bosnian products). in short, "globalism" is applied selectively. not to mention that 99% of the products bought from the net, could be very well produced locally. Its a paranoia designed to restrict freedom. The users of google, who have been following it since the .stanford.edu days should understand what i am talking about.

Although many immigrants were forced to abandon the country because of the crisis,it's very strange that plenty of gypsies have arrived. They mostly beg or search for rags and scrap. It's not an exaggeration believe me,it's massive.

One of the positive changes that this crisis has brought to Greece is a very serious reduction of corruption. It has been proved that several thousands of pensions were given to dead people and healthy civilians who were supposed to be disabled.

Rich Greeks Eye Luxury Estates in Switzerland
According to Robert Ferfecki, the real estate broker that consults for celebrities in Switzerland, rich Greeks exhibit an increasing interest towards real estate purchases. The prices range from one million up to 20 million Swiss francs, but that doesn’t seem to avert them.
“I’m getting calls from Greek investors almost every day who want to buy a house here,” says Robert Ferfecki, managing director for Sotheby’s International Realty Inc. in Zurich, who is selling luxury homes in the German-speaking areas of Switzerland, including Zurich and Lucerne. The Greek clients of Ferfecki are not stingy with money as long as they like the properties offered to them.
Mr. Ferfecki of Sotheby’s says the financial crisis has also triggered interest from cash-rich Europeans and Russians, who want to park some of their assets in Switzerland to shield themselves from a potential breakup of the euro zone and benefit from the country’s stability, as well as its low taxes, which can be less than 10% of a person’s income.
“What really makes these people come to Switzerland isn’t just the low taxes, but the quality of life and the stable rule of law,” Mr. Ferfecki says. “They don’t need huge security and can go shopping without being recognized.”

Some people are willing to take advantage of the Greek crisis...this was expected. We do have some hidden aces though...The E.U and probably Russia will not allow any dramatic changes to happen in our region.I sense that this crisis was made with a single purpose which is to grab Greece's oil and natural gas.Plenty of those are located in western Greece and near Crete. I once again feel sad because of some Balkan people's hatred. But i finally chose to ignore them. Greece needs desperately a good and strong leader. And yes,Rex,you're right. We need to know the names of the most corrupted Greeks, and we want the money back.As about the wealthy Greeks, they are doing NOTHING to help the poor.So far.Mostly the church is providing some help and some volunteers, mostly doctors. And the Bulgarian gypsies,i don't get it.Why so many of them came here,in times of crisis. Anywayz,i hope that all of you guys are doing fine, where ever you are.The situation here is not very good.Unemployment exceeds 25% and all these suicides,well... See ya. dryos pesoushs pas aner xylevetai....
