To be honest it sounds most similar to the Native American in the rhythm. I guess because they were herders. But to be completely honest it sounds older than the South Slavic music The Native Americans, I have read, they are of Japanese (Korean?) stock, so this is normal. Also it is true that this music sounds older, because it is more primitive. But more primitive does not mean older *in* the balkans. example : Typical TRUE - ANCIENT Greek music : Some ancient TRUE Greek Dance : True greek war - dance :

Then I will post some balkan Slavic which sounds pretty close.
And then the (Chinese/Korean/American???) sounds of Albanians and Central/Southern Greeks.

When you were complaining about Vlach music, I was expecting something like this:
Which sounds and feels pretty Balkan to me.

^^ the dance seems totally albano-vlah. But the music not so much. in Ipiros we got 3 main music scales : 1) this remotely has similar notes with a serbian scale, but not rythm. This is very popular also in all Vlah lands (all Greece) 2) ^^^ Savvas Siatras = best Ipirot singer!!! This 2) is our version of major scale (pentatonic) 3) the most typical of the typical Ipirot vlah: pure pentatonic (Korean/Chinese) - and also BLUES! - this is minor pentatonic (sort of) ^^^^ this is what I truly am. Sometime I will chase my roots in the depths of Asia. BTW, our phenotype is rather white, I mean, even more white than some south slavs. and finally some local traditional rok - stoner :

Yeah, I purposely picked a southern Macedonian dance because I thought it would be similar.
Check this one too

Yes, I noticed that. I also noticed Macedonians and Bulgarians use bagpipes and zurnas, instruments that are actually more ancient Greek. What a paradox

Bagpipes are present among all South Slavic nations. Zurnas I think only South Serbia, Macedonia and Bulgaria, but like I show you its also present in south parts of Italy. I am trying to figure out how is all that missing in Greece. Did someone thought its outdated or annoying to play zurnas or bagpipes? I just find it funny, because, as far as I can tell, rhytm doesn't sound so different, its just they use completely wrong instruments

Ulf talks about Zurna.
Anyways before the clarinet we had this :
most genuine Vlah music you'll ever get.
and now pls listen to this :
This is the beauty of our Vlah Ipirot soul :
problem :
IT IS ALWAYS SAD
even the major scales are sad....
WHY??
BECAUSE WE NEED THE SLAVS TO SHOW US THE JOY ... THE VIVID SPIRIT.....
and smth more
What are we?? the vlahs???
We are racially Slavs minus the soul... like dead SLavs...
seems SATAN works... here....
so maybe we are SLAVS??? from India/China/Korea???
