Its the complications that kill, not the virus itself. I don't know the accuracy but I've heard there are two strains of the virus, one being more dangerous than other. Maybe that is why some countries are doing better than others, for example Germany?
No. I don't think this is reason. I explained in another thread what I believe is the cause, but I'll repeat.
Germans simply follow rules. When German government say "please don't go out in groups bigger than 2 unless if you live in the same living space (house, apartments etc)" they follow such orders and that way the virus is contained and they buy enough time to isolate the sick. When government in Serbia says the same people go out and hang in parks and elsewhere even more. When in despair the government tries to impose even more strict measures, like curfew, to save the life of those who are endangered, people start saying how this is plan to destroy youth or something like that, and act even worse. Everything that would disturb their small routines for the health and lives of other people is quickly turned into ridiculous consipiracy theory. Funny thing is also, when it comes to those conspiracies we take them from the West, but when we are to take something people in the West do smart, we take the most retarded form we can from the East. That way we are always in lose-lose situation. I mean if I was not Serb and someone told me this I would laugh at it hardly, because its consequence of f*cking retarded behavour and no words are enough to describe it - you need to see it for yourself, and if you can't notice it, buy lenses, temporarily cut yourself from other people and medias and just start observing. So, I can't guarantee you its the weaker strain in Germany, but I guarantee you this last this I've explain is exactly what you'll see.

I got a friend from Germany, a mother of a daughter, and she complains all the time how stupid and undisciplined the Germans are. Also a mother from latin america who thinks the same about L'america. Add me to the mixture and you get the picture.
In the meantime, outside the main covid19 hospital in Greece : no motion, no activity. I'll report back tomorrow.
Somebody said conspiracy?

Urban area Athens has approximately 3 million people, spanning over approximately 400 km2. Since I don't have data for Athens, I'll interpolate. As of today Greece has approximately 130 still ill per 1 million people. That's 390 for whole Athens. 390/400 = 0.975 ill person per square kilometer. That's nothing, given that most cases are treated home, as only severe cases are treated in hospital, and usual number is around 20%, so that corresponds to 78 people in hospitals.
Belgrade urban area is spanning over 1035 km2. Belgrade has 876 cases recorded, so 876/1035 = 0.85 ill person per square kilometer, about 175 more severe cases (with stronger symptoms, but not necessarily on ventilation), usually half of it is on ventilation that gives us 88 people, which corresponds to data that for whole Serbia there are 108 people on ventilation as of today.
And in both cases I took worst case scenario, that all of the sick are from urban area, and not the whole, larger area of municipality (which is more likely the case).

Chinese heavy industry in Bor will give letter of resignation to every worker who is found to hide sickness. Those that purposely go to work when they have symptoms will be fired. Good measure, although now people will cry how this is against human rights, Serbian constitution, etc.

No, I mean Mediterranean. The cultural patterns are approaching in many ways to those of Mediterranean people. Not everything is bad about Mediterraneans but I don't like their main characteristics. I don't know what their main characteristic are.

purposely??? how on earth is that possible??? When a person feels sick he stays at home. And if a doctor certifies the illness he gets insured for that. Are they implying that Serbs are diehard workaholic masochtist maniacs of some sort??
Anyways, the whole thingy is laughable. Here at my work in albAthena, when I was fully sick, I came to work, and not once did the boss say, okie go home. He always pushed for more work.
Now, suddenly all care about #stay_home and other gay BS like that....

Yes, I noticed we have some unexplainable tendencies. When people work for government company or institution, they take million days of sick and other leave per year, but if they change for privately owned companies they are like ashamed to ask for sick day or day off. Kind of slave-like behaviour.

^^^ its more like genuine pure Slavic kindness of some sort.
anywayo, how is remote, work from home thingo in Serbia? Here in albAthens it sucks. I word double the hours, cause double the time is wasted on crappy network speeds, another double on crappy inter-greko communications which are laughable, total misunderstanding, lack of comprehension, etc and also lots of time wasted on needless browsing (slow) , kids....

I usually work standard time, and during that time I manage to do more because I'm not being disturbed by other employees, needless talks about life problems, I don't need to lose 2 hours to travel to work back and forth. Majority of other people are unprepared for telecommuting. I think when this all finishes I'm going to look for remote job because I obviously do way better, and I feel much happier with everything.

I prefer on site.
Remote, lots of time wasted on chatting. On site I use my mouth to talk and my hands to give commandos.

In my company we're saved by project tracking system. Its pretty basic, yet powerful. You can open a task for someone and track their progress and whole project with ease.

this happens because you are in the slavic balkans. I work for a company whose numbers are BIGGER than big american names, yet we have no management tools. That's why false greeks will be always inferior to you.

If the company is Greek then I don't have doubt. A lot of Serbian IT companies don't use management tools as well, but we have to because we have tight time slots and we often need to provide information upfront. I think you should really present people that decide for such things the benefit of having management tools, if you can. We were losing ton of time for writing emails, meetings, explaining who has to do what and how, and so on just because people were not adjusted to using these tools, until we fully switched for this solution due to current situation.

Bad news is the trend in Serbia is still progressive, an increase in number of infections is not stopped, even after all the measures. More people are dying. Today we have record amount of newly infected - more than 400 people.
