Balkan peninsula was swamped with a new people ....an explosion of new people from the east ...dont think they came in shaking hand and kissing each other ....they come in rampaging ...(like the slavic invasion ) Most Pelasgians migrated west across the adriatic and became known as Etruscans...these were the ones that could .. others Migrated northwest balkans .....these were the have not ...these people after time became known as Illyrians.... yes ...maybe a few assimilated with the new comers .... Your views are in stark contrast to what Herodotus and many other ancient Histories say. If the Pelasgians existed on the Balkan Peninsula during the Archaic Period and during the Classical Period then how did they leave? Also if the Athenians were also originally Pelasgian then why didn't they leave instead of adopting Greek culture and language? Your arguments are weak Rexy!

how did they leave?they took the subway .....they left by foot or boat .....I could cross greece east -west in 2-3 days by foot ....counting where you are at ... Also if the Athenians were also originally Pelasgian then why didn't they leave instead of adopting Greek culture and language?mistake ^ why are you saying Greek culture ? and whatever culture that did come in adopted plenty Pelasgian culture in the bigger towns ....also adopted their Gods and heroes Your arguments are weak Rexy! yea sorry I dont have video footage of this event that changed the face of the balkans ....or anything credible on youtube but my best friends here is common sense and all the village wits I can muster up ... see ....this was the 1st event that change the face of the balkans ... the 2nd was when the slavs came in ...that also change most of europe as well let alone the balkans .....and you notice how both groups have played their identity making ...one stronger than the other of course. I use the term balkan but I should be calling it iona btw....have you heard theres some historian that is going off the mainstream and possibly writing a book that claims that what Greece is really made up of is slaves and wounded Persians .... forgot his name ...some english fella

Hi Niklianos, First I would say only you is getting my attention here….and I really consider that everybody who can have doubt about greek culture looks mad for a greek….It’s normal You’re asking me a simple questions and answers are simple too. It’s simple understanding all those different tribes, which always were attacking each other, couldn’t be all speaking same language but different. Generation by generation they were forced to learn greek ,because you know the Power of church factor… but greek was a official language so you couldn’t do anything without it, that doesn’t mean the kosovars are Slavs … It’s about religion and of course its power, simple understanding.Nobody says we had not a greek religion, but is deffrent meaning. Next, It’s about climacteric condition…doesn’t seems to be too mach difference between greeks and Iberic people too, or in two or three generation Indians and Pakistani people can go close to a Nordic face too…. After Crucifixes, Greece was a bloody land so you can imagine what happened…. It is the same story as in Albania only mountains people have survived…. it was bad for us and even weakened the Byzantines itself ...
who had time to document ...just run to the mountains
then later we have Byzantines slapping Albanians bcs they are facing toward Catholic Rome more than eastward ...

And those tribes Epiriots,greeks,Emahtiot-macedonian,hellens could be something else based on Beginning of Roman Empire…….. Actually tribes who speak different dialects of the same language did fight. The various ancient tribes which became known as Greek/Hellenes in majority have their own writers who have discussed the different events which occurred between the many 'Greek' tribes. Let me simplify here. A)The various tribes which inhabited the Balkans peninsula in the most part did not consider themselves related. This was due to their lack of common ancestry. There were tribes that were related due to having a common mythical ancestor and hero and they spoke a common dialect of the same language. B) Now these tribes all worshiped the same gods and spoke according to all linguist even the ancient ones different dialects of the same language group. Now when did all these tribes either originally speak or adopt what came to be understood as Greek is unclear. C)What we do know is that by the 8th century B.C.E they all spoke a form of Greek belonging primarily or loosely to the 4 major dialect groups. We have Ionian, Dorian, Northwest and Arcado-Cypriot dialects of what was later to become known as Greek. D)The more trade and colonization which occurred influenced the various dialects to become more comprehensible to each other. E)This of course is not the case for those tribes who remained isolated and retained their own archaic forms of their dialects. These tribes at a later time did come into more contact with the various groups and thus changing their own dialects to become more comprehensible by the other 'Greeks'. F)It was after the time of Alexander that a 'Common' otherwise known as 'Koini'(pronounced KEE KNEE)dialect was created. This was done for several reasons. 1)Trade 2)Make it easier to learn for non-Greeks and illiterate Greeks.[/i] Now lets discuss the tribes which merged and adopted each others cultures to become what we all know today as Greek. The earlies inhabitants that are mentioned by the Ancient Sources are the Pelasgians. The Pelasgians existed from Epirus to The Aegean island, the Peleponnese, Athens, the Dodecanese Islands and central Greece. Next we have the Mycenaeans who we know thanks to Linear B spoke a very Archaic form of Greek. The Mycenaeans became the dominant force throughout the Balkans peninsula. They ranged, of course in the west Peleponnese in Mycenae, the rest of the Peleponnese, all of the Ionian islands, Attica(Athens region), Central Greece(Boeotia and Thessaly), Epirus and Macedonia and even the Aegean islands and as far away as Crete and Cyprus and the western coast of Anatolia(modern Turkey). It was these people who spoke a very archaic form of Greek which first spread what came to be known as Greek to the entire Balkans peninsula, the islands and Anatolia. This is shown through archaeological sites and discoveries in each and every one of those geographic places I named. Now at the end of the Mycenaean period a people coming from the Northwest of the peninsula known as the Dorians destroyed and overthrew many of the Mycenaean cities and centers such as Mycenae, Pylos and several others. The archaeological record supports this destruction. But who were these Dorians. The Dorians were a grouping of various tribes who spoke the same Archaic dialect which was in the same language group(modern terms) as the Mycenaeans. Now what we know is that when the Dorians desroyed the Mycenaean power and cities the Balkan Peninsula falls into what Archaeologist and Historians call the 'Dark Age'. This lasted roughly from 1150 B.C.E - 850 B.C.E. These dates have been pushed closer together through new finds in archaeology. Originally it was thought to have been from around 1200 - 800 B.C.E. At the end of the 'Dark Age' the tribes we read about in the ancient sources and our history books first started to create distinct identities. These in general were Ionian(originating in Athens), Dorians such as the Spartans, and the Aeolians such as the Thessalians. These tribes are how those people in the early 6th century B.C.E divided the people who spoke dialects of the same language. I will continue later. Need to get some dinner now.

Regarding the greek dialekts, Strabon book VII different chapters(collected) 1.eols were not capable to understand dorichs. 2.Athics used to call dorians as barbarians 3.Jonians were fighting the athenians, believing they spoke pellasgoi. Appianus:---------(Historia Romana)----------- In his book "Historia Romana" it is an article about the Illyrians: "The Hellenes call Illyrians, those people wich live across Thrace and Macedonia from Chaones and Thesprotes till the river of Istria" ;D

On the Albanian Claim that they have Illyrian names today
ISBN 960-210-279-9 Miranda Vickers, The Albanians Chapter 9. "Albania Isolates itself" page 256 In page 271 it is stated
From time to time the state gave out lists with pagan ,supposed Illyrian or newly constructed names that would be proper for the new generation of revolutionaries.(see also Also Logoreci "the Albanians" page 157.

These guys are as evil as the Maces...making up history to suit their needs day by day..and they have no shame at all...absolutely nada..
They read a paragraph from a history book.... and they magically see the word 'Albanian' in it ...where thousands before have seen the same page ... and were not able to.....
Funny stuff.... I can tell my grandkids one day.... ;D
