ticalosul, unfortunately I don't have time at the moment but, as a former marxist, I will write a detailed answer about the various issues that you have raised as soon as I find time. Just remember one thing, you have to judge peoples views, actions & theories in the historical framework that they were expressed or conducted.

Greece did not veto Turkey because Turkey didn't veto Greece either 2 years ago. It was an agreement between the two countries.

People have influenced each other and that is good otherwise each one of us would have to reinvent everything from the beginning.

Bosnia will destroy the current ruling mafia and it will become a centralized state that will be called "Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia". Then it will invade and liberate the people of the temporarily established illegal states and recreate the great Yugoslavia.

Now that is the joke of the year. Northern Greece and especially Western Macedonia (where Kastoria lies) is one of the poorest parts of Greece. The GDP per capita is lower than as of 2004 was 11.248,00€. Attica's GDP per capita as of 2004 was 20.215,70 €. observatory.egnatia.gr/02_indicators/02_ko-b04.htmobservatory.egnatia.gr/[/url]2X richer. It has nothing to do with state negation. The state is not obliged to give you anything and you don't have anything to give economically speaking. Either you work and compete or you get poor. This is how Capitalism works. Your main source of income is selling fur and then you are wondering why your economy is in such shape. Everything produced is not coming to Athens for free, people are buying them and you are being paid for your services. And we are paying more money than we should because of the tarifs. Soon EU is going to lift the barriers and we will have real free trade. Which means we will import cheaper goods from outside and that pretty much signals your end. Now I am not saying that this is entirely your fault. The state should have done something in order to educate these people and make them more competitive and to invest in skills and knowledge, since you are still too expensive to compete the rest of the Balkan workers (that's why they are taking the companies). And I support giving you help and assistance since I am a good person , but to moan that we are the cause of your condition pai polu. If you are going to reply either bring statistics and facts to prove your thesis or don't bust my balls. I have more important things to do than teaching economics for free. Gotta love Capitalism.

The BBC is a discredited agency that expresses the interests of the Foreign Office. If you want some normal news in England better read The Guardian or the Telegraph.
Some big landowners, like the guy who speaks in the article, want autonomy for their interests and everything is right about negation. The island doesn't have a proper hospital and they have to travel to Gianina if they have a serious problem and many people die due to this. Corfu doesn't produce 20% of the GDP, this is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. They don't even produce 5%.
Quite frankly I don't give a crap if they go away. Good riddance. As far as I know everyone is a burden to Athens. Especially northern Greece.

Only North Italy looks like a European country. The South Italy is the same as Greece. In North Italy the economic situation is better than in South but I haven't heard Sicilians asking for autonomy... Just because you haven't seen something it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

But there is nothing to worry about since it's neither McCain nor Palin nor any President the one's who plan the foreign Policy. The elections are a show that legitimizes the system.
