His mother was a slav Montenegrin, like me, Milo Djukanovic and Njegos.
Kapetan - almost every single Montenegrin is mixed with albanians, right down to Montenegrin Royalty, but then all albanians in montenegro are mixed with Montenegrins as well.

Some of the northern parts of Albania, and the Albanians there, are mixed in with Montes.

Indeed, all the connected mountainous regions (north Albania, Montenegro, herzegovina) seems to share some qualities and cultural things.

Not exactly, there are many northern Albanians whos mother tongue is Albanian yet to this day have names like Vuksan, Vaselj, Stanisa
Yes, Hercegovinians, mainland-Montenegrins, and Northern Albanians are all related and mostly come from the same root, they make up the Montenegrin people.

"Yes his mother was Montenegrin. But his father was Greek not Albanians, the Kastrioti were a Greek family."
We know definetly that his mother was a serb born in the polog region of vardar, however his fathers ancestry is debatable between Greek, Albanian or Serbian.

Does it really f**kin' matter? He fought for Albania and for/with Albanians.
People are seriosly too concerned with "blood". Like it matters today. Only thing that matters today is the present situations. Most people on the Balkan can't claim some "purity" blood wise, and if they do they're bulls**tting. We can only claim our lands and where we're from.
We need to start thinking as nations and countries not as ethnic groups and races and religions.
Besides anyone who fought for Balkan lands and fought heroicly is a hero. From Skanderbeg to Husein-kapetan Gradascevic to Milos Obilic. I respect them all.

I know the answer about the great man of Scanderbeg so have a read below:
1) In Albania, a prince of Serb origin, George Kastriotovoitch Skenderbeg, fought the Turks with great valour as the prince of Albania.
Count Leopold Ranke History of the Servian People 1848 Leipzig, Germany
2)"...in the time of national awakening for the Albanians - Skenderbeg was as much of a Serb as he was an Albanian...in him there was much Serb blood. His mother Vojislava was a Serb princess and the names of most of Skenderbeg's sisters were Serb... Mara Jela Angelina Vlajica and his brothers were: Stanisa Konstantin Skenderbeg's sister Mara was married to Stefan Crnojevic, lord of Zeta, who with the Zetans helped Skenderbeg for 24 years in the wars against the Turks. According to the Catholic priest of Shkodra Marin Barleci, the Turks unearhed Skenderbeg's remains and distributed them amongst themsleves 'as souveniers'.
Paul Rovinski Russian emmisary and historian quoted from: "Glas Crnogorca" 1899
3)"Skenderbeg's family was of Serb descent" and married to Danica daughter of Vojvoda Golem. (golem is an old Slav word, meaning "great".)
L. Defenbah "Zeine Familie War Slavishen Ursprungs" Brlin, Germany 1895
4)The Catholic Albanian priest Marini Barleci says that Skenderbeg wore Serb clothing and wrote in 'Serb letters and Italian language' because the illiterate Albanians at that time could only write in Greek or Serb just as Skenderbeg "carried all discussions in the Serb language".
Kacic Miosic (Croatian scribe) 17th Century
5)"Skenderbeg, a personally brave man was of Serb descent and was so useful, that he was respected by the Albanians, as well. He was the son of Ivan Kastrioti. His mother was Vojislava, daughter of the Prince of Polog"
Teodoro Spanduci 16th century Italian quoted by: P. Rovinski see: above source for Mr. Rovinski

Kapetan, we assimilated the illyrian population? WE ARE the illyrians. You cannot assimilate yourself. You slavs assimilated many of the north tribes(may they burn in hell for all eternity), and made them slavs. Something I'm glad over. They showed how loyal they are.
Albanians are direct descendants of the illyrians and pelasgians. The only living descendants of hte pelasgians. End of story.

"His mother was a slav Montenegrin, like me, Milo Djukanovic and Njegos."
We cant be sure about that. Slavic name doesnt mean anything. Many montenegrins were Albanians or had Albanian roots. One of these two goes for Scanderbegs mother.
Gjon would not marry a woman with no Albanian blood.
