Arxil, l went with the family to the local shopping centre and the heat in the wind was so intense that my eyes felt like they were burning. I know it was bad hey, on that day out of curiosity I cracked an egg in my back yard “have a bit of concrete” and to my astonishment it started frying lol Mate hope not to experience anything like that again. The Autralian sun is so harsh that a 46 degrees feels like 55 + with those extra uv rays...

The Yarra Valley is a beautiful place with many fine wines made in the region. The towns of Kinglake, Wandong are also within a 20-25 minute drive from my place and the devestation is nothing short of complete. Words can not describe the tragedy.
The estimated deaths are now up around the 170 mark.

128 confirmed dead atm...could go as high as 250 as more and more houses are cleared up and burntout cars are discovered. It is reportedly the single largest fire-related loss of life since modern firefighting technology has been in use. from footage seen, it was hell on earth

Its a wonder how the Irish survived here. white anglo-saxon/celtic aussies wear alot of sun screen, and put zinc on & around their noses. but even with that, australia has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world, due to australians of english, irish, welsh & scottish descent being the majority of the population, who have pale white or pinkish skin, and living in a harsh hot and dry environment which doesnt adapt to them. these peoples are naturally out of place in australia. thats why the natives of australia were black, to suit the environment in which they lived in for thousands of years.

Q: How did they survive before the invention of suntan lotion?
A: Not very well.
