Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said in Banjaluka that Serbia supports Republika Srpska and will never allow changes of the Dayton Accords and the abolition of RS. The interior ministries of the two countries and other countries in the region will continue their firm cooperation and fight together against organized crime and all other forms of crime. This part of Europe is a transit in the traffic in drugs, arms and people and lately in international terrorism forms, Dacic said. He said the talks did not touch on the case of the remaining two Hague indictees, Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic and added that the Serbian government is helping in the derence of Hague indictees by allowing access to documents at their defence counsels’ request and helping their families as well.

Serbia, then, was blackmailed and threatened as usual by the high (my ass) representative, EU/NATO, etc... and the rest of the usual irrelevant international organs, who cant locate RS or Serbia in the map. Now the point, is that your almost "abolished" Dayton, will be your fucking bible, in the future when the Russians are gonna be pushing hard to gain more points in the world-wide-chess-board by endorsing freedom for the most oppressed and martyric nation of europe... the Bosnian Serbs... I can hear already the pathetic begging voices of all ex-mudjahedin and ex-nazis, for "justice" and "law" and agreements and constitutions... Of course it will be too late... ;D

It was/is so irrelevant that it blackmailed and threatened Serbia into submission.

Oh yes, what will RS due without having the ability to issue currency when it is a sub-national entity and only states can do so, or transfering the issuance of licence plates so that if some from RS drives into FBiH there plates aren't smashed and vice-versa. The aspects of RS that have supposedly been "abolished" were pretty much irrelevant and illogical for RS to have. The only major thing that RS transferred was certain aspects of the tax code -- i.e. the joint VAT in Bosnia -- which allowed RS to have a better tax system for investment then FBiH does and the military.

The military is useless on a day-to-day basis. The police is what matters. Republika Srpska hasn't lost any real power since Dayton came to effect, just nominal vestiges of statehood that it gave away by signing Dayton (Republika Srpska was practically an independent country until Dayton). Herceg-Bosna has been abolished fully 14 years after Dayton on the other hand.

Go to Banja Luka and you will see soldiers with the RS crest on their arm patch. On paper I am sure Bosnia is a utopian multicultural paradise but in reality things are just as divided as before and will stay that way until politicians in Sarajevo stop threatening the existence of RS... which will never happen.
Anyhow, only an idiot would want to disband the republic because its tax rate is half of what it is in the federation and so far 300 Bosnian corporations have moved their HQ from the federation to the republic because of this.

Ah I see that makes sense.
In your words "It will stay that way (divided)" as long as we threaten to take away the thing that's doing the dividing.
Great logic.
So it won't be divided if we leave alone the thing that's doing the actual dividing.
Amazing.

Republika Srpska is not forced upon Serbs, it is wanted by them. When you threaten its existence, you threaten us, we become defensive and more nationalistic. It is just human nature. If you let us be and accept us, we will put our guard down, accept co-operation in Bosnia and working on improving the standard for all.

So it won't be divided if we leave alone the thing that's doing the actual dividing. Amazing. If a political entity that represents a certain people is threatened then the people as individuals are threatened. If the people as individuals are threatened then they will not seek to be friends with those who threaten them. Anyhow, the federation is divided into 10 entities so all this talk of RS being a "divider" is bulls hit. republika srpska was created by serbs through criminal acts, stop with the saint-rhetoric No it wasn't. Perhaps the republic was maintained by "criminal acts" (since the vast mass of idiots have deemed the very presence of the republic as criminal its hard to understand what a criminal act is and what isn't) but so was the federation so if the republic is illegal then so is the federation. This is like self projection on a national level.
