I listen to it whenever i want to hear some nice music or whenever I'm nostalgic for Bosnia. Its not the kind of music you listen to at parties or whatever

Meho Puzic is the best.
My dad use to sing some of his songs when he was drunk, especially this one: lol
STA SU KUCI TAKO RANO STA ME CEKA TAMOOOOOOOOO

just a question! Do u guys listen to this? Its somewhat booring :/ i guess its possible that diasporas rather listen to them than those who currently lives in tha balkans because of nostalgic feelings on tha balkans. & @ least lots of foreign balkan-lovers (like me) like to listen to them

You would be surprised if you knew how many young people listen to sevdah especially young guys. Lets just say that almost every time I go out with friends we have some sevdalinka playing in a car at one pooint during the night and if we get realy drunk than its more than likely that we listen only to sevdalinke and nothing else. And there are always sevdalinke being sung at any bigger bosnian sijelo type of thing and even the youngest children know many of those songs.

I don't think it's a regional thing as I know people from all over that listen to it, though some areas may more than other's. Well around Banja Luka in public I doubt you'd hear much of it given the make up of Serbs there, but at home in private it's happening :-)
