I'm interested in hearing Bosniaks experiences in the wider Islamic community. There's obviously a distinct racial difference with the majority of the Islamic world. But also cultural... Bosniaks are more liberal & European then even other Christian countries. What's it like for a Bosniak going to some sort of Islamic gathering? Do the others flip out? Do they all try & crack on to Bosniak women? What's it like? I'm wondering why somebody like you would like to know how Muslims are doing amongst other Muslims? You're not a Muslim, you'll not be able to go to the Holy Lands in the Peninsula and see how a couple of million Muslims from every place, every color, every race in the world are doing with each other.. Even Slavic people.. In Islam, your ethnicity, color, place of birth, has no signification whatsoever. Instead, it's who you are and what you do that matters! Amongst Muslims and because of their deep ignorance of the religion, they might think they're better than one another just because of the color of their skin or the origins of their grandfathers. There's an infinite difference between Islam and Muslims. Non-Muslims see what Muslims do and attribute that to their religion, Islam.. It's definitely not true. Ciao!

Just so you ^ know, many boslims fled to Serbia after the war, they couldn't take the change that was ahead.
My family doctor in toronto is a Bosnian-muslim, he retired and wanted to go back to Sarajevo, his home, but soon came back to Canada. He told me and my mother he cried when he saw the state Sarajevo was in, compared to what it used to be. It's very sad what happened their, we all lost something no matter what side one was on.

Depends where you are. I mean when I visit BiH the place I see the most Muslims is in the east quarter of Mostar and I mean they are really muslim. Totally different place than a couple decades ago. Veiled women , prayers on the megaphones - especially the attempt to make it loud enough so the West bank Catholics can hear it. I mean its a two way street , they probably don't appreciate the lit up cross on Hum either, lol. But not counting the Old Town , if you go to the east bank of Mostar it really is a crap hole that resembles somewhere in Palestine. Unfortunately this is the image I get of the Bosniaks since I don't venture into Bosniak and Serb places there much.

It was, and probably still is, the only place where you can find women (usually the older ones) wearing a burka.

I guess in Italy it would be different since there are heaps of Albanians there. That is interesting, but I was tthinking probably more in countries like Britain, Australia, America where most Muslims would be Arabic, Asian & African. There were a group of Albos who rebelled against the Ottomans they were Christians "Alberesh" or whatever
