I never really heard people's opinions, on this forum, about this small entity that existed for a short period during the Bosnian War. What are your thoughts on West Bosnia and thier collaboration with Serbs and Croats. I am looking for a Bosnian perspective so Serbs and Croats keep your comments to a minimum.

A lot of Bosniaks who settled in Chicago were from this area and were supporters of the NO ZB. It is an interesting sideshow from the war, one that Serbs exploited with limited success as a propaganda victory. Most members of the armed forces in the NO ZB I have met regret that they had to fight fellow Bosniaks. There beef was with Alija Izetbegovic and most blame him for bringing the war to BiH. They point out (correctly I may add) that Fikret Abdic was elected to represent the Muslims in Bosnia in the elections in the early 1990's. He deferred his appointment to Alija Izetbegovic and the rest is history. When Izetbegovic was kidnapped at the SA airport after returning from the Lisbon talks in 1992 Abdic showed up in SA some speculate he was a part of a coup attempt. Ejup Ganic was appointed by Izetbegovic in his absence squashing this possible rebellion. After this is when Abdic brokered a deal with the Serbs (who wanted to weaken the SA authorities) a non aggression pact. There is and was a strong cult of personality surrounding Abdic that exists to this day. An excellent book about this subject is "Crisis as Bihac".

Yeah, there are a lot of Bosniaks from Velika Kladusa that moved to the US. Here where I live, there is a seperation between "us" and "them" and there are a lot of hostilities as well.

What are your thoughts on West Bosnia and thier collaboration with Serbs and Croats. Collaboration with the aggressor forces (VRS and VSK) makes them traitors, just like the fact that they raised weapons against the Bosnian army. Fortunately they where liberated at the end

In short: they are morons, but desperation and necessity played a role as well.

Fikret Abdic was a "business man". And during the war, perhaps i am wrong, but he used his small country as a sort of trading zone, where he sold things from Serbs to Croats, or am I wrong?
The APZB can be looked at in 2 ways, either as the ultimate within warprofiteering, or as the most extreme result of the infighting of the original SDA from before the war.
Anyways the APZB just shows how meaningless this war was. And that it was the politicians who made this war for their own personal gain.

I never spoke of this often here as well it's a little sensitive. But really I have no comment as after all everyone collaborated with everyone, whether people know it as fact or not. Alot has been covered up under other guises; though this was more open. Moral of the story, don't trust anyone :-)

Its interesting that a lot of crimes were committed by Bosnian troops when they originally tried to take this area back.
I think just goes to show you that army's act different depending on their role. If you are protecting land and people, it makes it a lot different than if you feel you need to take land back and gain control.
Bosnian troops did there what Serb troops did in a lot of other places.

Having said that, I can't believe this party still has some support today.

Bosnian troops did there what Serb troops did in a lot of other places. You mean the anti-Bosnian troops of Fikret Abidc?

I doubt the 5th corpus raped Bosniak women. As far as Abdic's troops, they all deserved to be killed, in the worst possible way.
And I'm also glad the Islamska Zajednica refused to everyone of them an Islamic burial.

Fazlinho is right, traitors deserve to die no matter what ethnicity. Fikret Abdics terrorist army was no better then Karadzics terrorist army or the HVO-terrorists.

Thank you for your impartial opinion. I don’t see you defending the RSK-cetniks, who did the same shit to your country as these bastards to BiH.

Could you, or any other of the BiH patriJote for that matter please explain to me what the meaning of this glorious war was?
And people are conscripted into armies, if any of you had been in the "APZB" you would have fought for Abdic, hell if you had been forcibly conscripted into the VRS's only Muslim brigade you probably would have fought for them as well, so please spare me the national romance of "traitors" and "nobles"..
Abdic was an A*****e who wanted to grow rich out of other peoples suffering, but guess what, so were 90% of the leadership of our 3 respective ethnic groups...
All that talk about nation/religion/ethnicity/history is just used to get normal people warmed up into a nationalist frenzy, and then you send them of to die whilst you your self profiteer.
Funny thing is, most Bosniacs voted for him, LoL. Other funny things are that the SDA - SDS and HDZ made a coalition against the social democrats and reformists, or perhaps they were still communist then..
So yes, this war was in my opinion totally meaningless, as are most war that have been fought in history. Abdic, along with the rest of exyu politicari, as for Milosevic, Tudjman, Izetbegovic... I hope there is a God, and that they are burning in hell, and I hope Fikret Abdic joins them. They got somewhere from 100-150 00 people killed, millions displaced, tens of thousands of women raped, hundreds of thousands crippled. And they along with their partners stole what ever could be stolen. They turned people who were friends and eevn family members on each other...
As for the APZB, it was just the product of a power hungy djubre politicar, who lost the internal strugle for the Bosniac side, and assumed he would be better of by working with the Serbs. That a Bosniac had little issues with killing other Bosnaics just so to get power that he would use for him self should show how meaningless this war was...

Yep Bog, all politicians were shite during the war, even Muhammad’s reincarnation Izetbegovic. As soon as we realize that we can move from stupid nationalism that is slowing our future prospects.
