Even if you dont count nato in it, there is still the fact that there is no will for the Serbs in Serbia to take Krajina, and the fact that Serb refugees in the west arent willing to go back and leave their better lives here. Krajina will be devestated land after another war and most wont want to return to that. They wont return because there is no one guaranteeing their safety. Serbs are treated like second class citizens in Croatia because Serbian politicians have been too preoccupied with keeping their jobs. Once the political leadership is permanently changed then the ball will get rolling again.

Man, this thread has come spiraling out of control. Transfer it to the Croatia Subforum, seeing as "RSK" is Croatian territory, within the Republic of Croatia. I'll post some more when I have the time. Some statistics and facts/factual errors about the war and the position Tudjman was in.
Fender, I understand that you are a Yugoslav to the extreme (Croat by Ethnicity), but the idea of Yugoslavia died the day Tito did. The war in Croatia was a means of survival, and ripping the chains of domination off of our backs. Same goes for the Serbs, Bosniaks, and everyone else. We worked great as a team, but someone started talking behind someones back, and an eye for an eye left everyone blind. Serbs could have ended up worse. Croats could have ended up worse. Tudjman was smart, and sure he made mistakes, but so does everyone. After all hes only a leader and a human. In my eyes, the sacrifice of Vukovar was needed to ensure enough attention was made to the Croat cause (Other members better not give me and chit responses such as "Oh the Genocidal Ustasa Dream" crap. I say STFU and save your time typing because I don't read nationalistic/propagandist rhetoric.), and that cause was independence.
Dude you cannot possibly downplay the importance the war had. If it wasn't that important to the Croat people, they wouldn't have elected Tudjman.
If I offended anyone I apologise, but damn, some of you that have writen in this thread (Especially the mamlaz above me), need to take a chill pill and relax on the extremism.
Deaucon.. what ball will get rolling? What in the blue hell are you talking about boy?
I think that we should all listen to Pyrros, as he said it himself that our kids and grandkids will regret this war ever happened.

Vucigorski - You forget the battle on Kosovo, which you lost, you forget the battle of Mojkovac which you lost (And we Montenegrins had to save your guzas), you forgot the many battles you lost against the austrians, and how you lost against the nazi's.
Meanwhile we Montenegrins continually win, from Vuci Do to the Battle of Skadar, to our Independence ;D

The war in Croatia was a means of survival, and ripping the chains of domination off of our backs. When the war in Croatia started the president of Yugoslavia was a Croat who happens to be the current president of Croatia. Man, this thread has come spiraling out of control. Transfer it to the Croatia Subforum, seeing as "RSK" is Croatian territory, within the Republic of Croatia. As this is about Serbs (Republika Krajina) then it will stay right here. If I offended anyone I apologise, but d*mn, some of you that have writen in this thread (Especially the mamlaz above me), need to take a chill pill and relax on the extremism. Cool it. All I said is that we can win a war if it comes to it.
