"alternatively that 'we have been here before you came"
This one would be the best play for you .
"we are going to show you that we have always been here"
Wouldn't work , your a Slav and Pontian mix, both sets new to the Balkans. But the Slav side could win you points compared to Greek speakers that came later by Aegean waters ways

this banana person can never be a macedonian.MACEDONIANS BARE GREEK NAMES ALONE,LIKE THEY USED TO DURING THE ANTIQUITY.Your post was edited. i dont understand you people and your chauvinist behavior...you care to steal hellenic herritage while you are being eaten alive by the albanians...i mean,i just dont get it...you should wake up and realise your real problem...oh,and then greeks should wake up too!! Pontians are not new in the balkans at all!!!Their anchestors were greeks from the greek mainland that formed colonies all over the black sea and elsewhere.

Do not pollute this thread with your nationalistic overtones, Nikon. The acronymn you use is purely a UN/EU/NATO temporary solution to their correspondence until the name issue is resolved. You do not have the authority to apply this UN/NATO/EU policy on these forums.

elaborate a bit more?come on,Rex... rex, which is the percentage of albanians in fyrom today? and what about their population in 30 years? there was a war a few years ago over there,am i wrong? until then, fyrom was the only ex-yugoslav republic which was not affected by the war in yugoslavia... there's a nice albanian slogan that i have read recently... first pristina, then tetovo and finally chameria...oh,do not forget about the slavic solidarity...SU-25 was a small gift from UCRAINE... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-252001 Macedonian conflict Su-25s were used by the Macedonian Air Force during the 2001 Macedonia conflict against Albanian separatists. Beginning on 24 June 2001, the aircraft made multiple attack runs against separatist positions. The most successful operation took place on 10 August 2001, in the village of Raduša, when SU-25s attacked Albanian militants who had ambushed and killed sixteen Macedonian soldiers over the previous two days.[27]

Wrong Ephialtes. Your attitude is so detrimental to Greekness, that I am surprised no one has spanked you yet. Your negative pollution of these threads is apparently all you know how to do. Please, for Greekness sake, if you can not have a decent dialogue or discussion, be silent. You are drifting. Check your compass.

"I agree totally. But what does this have to do with the Vergina Sun?"
Since Mr Gligorov admitted there is no connection to the state of ancient Macedonia, he realises that all this false macedonianism violates the rights of Greek Macedonians and falsely lays claim to the Hellenic legacy of Macedonia.
To the unlearned, this slav macedonianism confuses people into believing that this slavic mass from the vardar are 'the macedonians', the vergina sun only strengthens this confusion.

Try to keep the political arm of all this out of it.
The Vergina Sun comes from the Ancient Macedonians, and was used extensively in the region.
