After FYROM's government recognized the independence of Kosovo, FYROM's Ambassador Aleksandar Vasilevski in Belgrade has been declared Persona non grata and requested to leave. Belgrade issued a note of protest to the Fyromanian Ambassador in Belgrade.Serbia as soon as possible, according to the Ministry. Belgrade respond with strong measures against FYROM. Greece has too close relations with Serbia to grant recognition.Given FYROM's fragility in international relations, and the lately aggravated dispute with Greece and an angry Belgrade.Serbia is FYROM’s major trading partner. Some fear that the recognition could, at the very least, disrupt trade relations. On more than a few occasions recently, Greece has temporarily shut their border with FYROM in the name dispute.

That means nothing for me. Its time for Serbs to say an "excuse me" to Greeks by taking back the recognition. I give a sheet about the ambassador. They will accept him back in a few months. Their "betrayal" will stay for ever. Now.. even under these circumstances, its time.

Only Arab countries and countries with dictatorships expell ambassadors as a sign of protest. Wrong move by Serbia... Soon it will have to expell the Greek ambassador I am sure... You really think Greece will never reckognise Kosovo? You will be wrong.

Don't you understand that FYROMians are among the few neighbors of the Serbs that don't hate them. The others are the Montenegrins (no so anymore I suppose) and the Romanians. Romanians like the Serbs even though the Serbs treat badly the Romanian minority in Timok Valley. 95% of the Romanians never even heard that of their brothers' existance.

Serbs and Greeks had (have?) common enemies: Bulgarians, Albanians and Turks. Anyways the Serbs kinda slapped you in the face more than one time: during the Greek civil war they tried to steal Macedonia from Greece. No it was not the Yugoslavs that tried to steal it, it was the Serbs in the first place. Then they recognized FYROM by the name Macedonia. What's happing to the FYROMian patriarchy? I think FYROMians should have their own patriarchy given that they have a country of their own. All ortodox countries should have patriarchies: FYROM, Belarus, Montenegro, Ukraine. I think the Greek patriarch from Istanbul/Constantinople is behaving undemocraticly by not allowing the FYROMians to have an independent church outside of Serbian jurisdiction.

Serban, I dont believe its because of the common enemies now (after all.. in Greece, Bulgaria and Albania are not considered enemies). Its more about the common will to resist to American plans in Balkans. About the Fyromian patriarchate.. yes.. they could have their own. The problem is that it was always was depended from politics.. and politics of these region was always against Macedonia. (the real one). When their religion stop to have political motives.. I dont have a problem with that. "Don't you understand that FYROMians are among the few neighbors of the Serbs that don't hate them." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Yet! If they are told from the Americans... they will. Dont be so sure. 20 years ago... they didnt hate us too. I used to have friends from Halkidiki. Suddenly... we have become their "genociders" lol lol Dont bet on it Serban.... its all about American agenda in the Balkans. NoviBazaar "Basil, l'm deeply disapointed what serbia has done regarding the name issue." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Among the Greeks, Macedonians were the ones wjho felt more angry. I wonder why dont you take it back now...? Its the right time... Thessaloniki is waiting for that.

Basil, l never knew of this recognition by serbia until very recently .........If l was president there would had been no reconition from the beginning. I'm asking the same question, why don't they take it back.

You really think Greece will never reckognise Kosovo? You will be wrong. wanna bet ? We didnt do it now when we have a national interest and stake ( FYROM ). What makes you think we will do it later ? If Greece told the US that it will recognize kosovo...You can be sure that skopje would be dumped like a bad habit and the name issue would be solved in a heart beat. But we didnt...and I dont think we ever will. The only time that will happen will be in cooperation with Serbia.. if ever...

Serban, I dont believe its because of the common enemies now (after all.. in Greece, Bulgaria and Albania are not considered enemies). I don't know about Bulgaria but I think Greece and Albania are natural enemies just because they are too similar, almost identical in some cases, except language really,

I just said what it is all over me as a common sence. It's easy to understand what a national policy dictates its citizens. Look at Fyrom.. by following the national policy is easy to be seen that Greek are the worst enemies and they should "liberate" their "fatherland".
In Greece there is not that feeling. To "liberate their fatherland and save it from the bad Albania". I would have know that since they government would make me feel that deep in my skin.
In Greece, as far as Greek minority leaves a happy life, there is not even one clue about "natural enemy" and stuff like that for Albania.
I just tell you what I receive from my environment.
They gvnt dont let us forget Cyprous or Asia Minor or Pontus problems. I can receive that... and I like that. With Albania.... I dont get any hostile vipes...

Serbian President Boris Tadic has decided not to proceed with any further sanctions against FYROM and Montenegro, following their recognition of Kosovo’s independence. Serbia has already expelled both FYROM’s and Montenegro's ambassador from Belgrade after the countries announced that they recognized Kosovo's independence. I am really surprised over the stance of the Serbian Government
