A country in which the majority ethnic group loses control to other groups is doomed to civil war. What do you think would happen to Albania if they joined the E.U ? Wouldn't your neighbours flood your lands and start ?...........Seems you saw this in my post already A vicious never ending cycle, you think the Yankees care about the Albs ? better think real hard.........Because when they are done on what they want, to cut it short....They are known to prosecute and hang ex presidents. Presidents they helped put in power in the first place.

Thats so true Ajax. We, the Balkanians have paid our naivity many many times with the barbarians. We have some day to wake up and see that these people have a tottal different attitude towards life, friendship etc etc. We tend to trust them because these values count in Balkans and we think that will count also with the Nordic barbarians. They have a tottal different way of life.
See how different was when Hellenism was in power and how different is when Anglosaxon were in power; Our colonies came out from merchants and with volunteers for Hellenistic culture... their colonies came out with soldiers and by force till today. Weaker nations adopted the Hellenic culture then... weaker nations were forced to accept Anglosaxons today. Wherever Greeks were the invaders, today the conquered speak with pride for being invated by Greeks. Today... they hate being conquered by Anglosaxons. Greeks used to take slaves after battles... Anglosaxons used to take slaves.. in a peacefull village of Africa without any kind of warnings... until recently in our century.
We speak about real barbaric way of thinking and acting. Their culture is barbaric. Dont forget... until 'recently' they used to burn alive women as witches! I couldnt imagine the Greek society ever accepting that. The Mediaval ages were revealing the true character of these nations.
...and despite that... we tend to believe them, trust them... and adimiring them.
Thank God... Greeks have started to understand. I hope the rest of Balkanians some day will wake up.

I think the religious motive really outweights the ethnic one. There are really a lot of turkish-sounding names in Albania too - does that mean they were turkish?! Of course Albanians married-in with Turks..it is a well known fact. I have come across at least five 'Turks' with Albanian back grounds.
