AlbaneseHoney must go!!! Or other people in this board will stoop to her level. I enjoy reading these forums but I really cannot stand her ignorant comments followed by those annoying little smiley faces like she did something good. AlbaneseHoney, either shape up or ship out. Stop with the racist comments, and stop with your confrontational debating style. No one is receptive to a thing you say because your just a racist and nothing more. And Rex you start to sound like this smut more and more everyday. Mysia, well for you no comment. Well, I know you greeks have a problem with girls, but the rest of us like them... Her comments are backed up with reliable links. I don't get where do you see the ignorance in her posts...

i suppose i do know the answer to this small riddle...
Dyrrhacium is certainly not a greek word...its a latin name for sure...its the latin name of the greek epirote city Epid*mnos...during the latin period, the coinage of the greek cities remained greek and thats all...the inscription says ÄÕÑÑÁ×ÉÏÍ which is the greek form of this latin name, written in the greek alphabet...
so,its simply a coin from the latin period!!!

sorry to say,albanians...you have nada,we have everything...envy is a miserable situation,honey... Here's what Archaeology says about who inhabited the region apriori name of epi*damus... Despite a temporary lapse after the fall of Communism in 1990, today archaeologists from Europe and America are working with their Albanian colleaguesto excavate the country's prehistoric, classical, and later sites. Greeks established colonies in the region between the mid-eighth and mid-sixth centuries B.C. when it was already populated by the Illyrians, who had arrived ca. 1000 B.C. Divided into tribes and clans, these people were adept at raising cattle, farming, and metalworking. The Greek historian Polybius (ca. 205-125 B.C.) says that the Illyrians were excellent shipwrights. They were also particularly skillful in piracy, and during the third and second centuries B.C., enslaved captives and booty were a large source of revenue for the country. link Soooo soorry Leo, you got less than nada nil zip, we owned it and named it correctly by our tribal leaders...before any Archaeologist called it Greek colony... btw, what does Epi-damus mean in Greek?

AlbHoney,
I still don't understand why you go uptity uptity when you read about Illyrians....? What's the connection? Remember... before 1200 .... no albanians..... I mean even the Slavs seem to have been here longer... whatsupwiththat..like Rex says?
You seem to be able to get all those links to all this bullchit stuff you post..use your time to find us nice links about the existence of Albs before 1200.... that is one cause you should strife for... what good is if you get all exited every time you see the word Illyrian.. when you cannot successfully connect yourself to them? Its like me trying to connect my self to Martians..... do they exist?

Part of the history of the land of Albania. I dont see what this has to do with the modern Greek state and people. The Greek state begins a couple hundred kilometers from this position? Why would this have anything do to with it?

Why would this have anything do to with it? Well, if your feeble brain could handle it you would understand that Greek speakers lived in that region thousands of years ago and the coins with GREEK INSCRIPTIONS are the PROOOOOOOOOOOOOFOFFF!!!!!! Where is your proof for anything you say?
