Hi greek friends! I m Bulgarian and I went to Thessaloniki (or Solun in Bulgarian) last week and wanted to say how much I loved the city. Its actually very surprising how Meditarenian this beautiful city is. I loved the white tower, the big walls, the street near the sea, the big terraces, really nice town. The people were friendly and cute. It was over 20 degrees. I hope I will visit Greece in the summer again for a long vacantion!

Unfortunately I have been only at the Athens airport (catching a flight) and I ve seen it inly from a plane while we were going down. I must say it looked magnificent with those beautiful shores too (It was last winter). Hope I ll go and visit it soon.

some old Greek buildings are beautiful.I like the building with Greek art rather than the plain boring ugly standard modern building

In pretty much every Slavic language, I'm pretty sure its called Solun (at least for Serbian I'm sure).

Tzarigrad is the most common name. Stambol is also used.

Even the Slavs admire Constantinople alone by calling it Tzarigrad...
