Why would the Albanians of for instance Greece want a greater Albania? I am sure those Albanians lead much better lives speaking Greek and achieve a higher standard of living working in Greece. I think Albanians of Greece have it too good to try and break away.

You said it greek. You "believe". Well let me correct you. You believe wrong.
And Kasso ---------, its not a nationalistic dream, its a patriotic reality around the corner. You ----------.
Please refrain from insulting each-other!

The speech gave me very positive response from both the teacher and students. The article (speech) is not negative towards Albania and the Albanians and the facts/predictions are true. I can't for my life understand why Dijedon, who obviously is a successful university student, can't comprehend the context of the content.

The problem of you is that almost all of you live in diaspora.. and your data or ideas come from rumors and sayings and bla bla.. I'll tell you a story. A real story that takes place now! In my village there are no more young people. All the young people and families moved to Thessaloniki and Athnes. Only some old grant parents left.. Due to the fact that young people were needed.... many Albanians came. They are the majority now in that village. They are the new farmers since they rent the land from the owners who are now in the cities. Most of them bought houses the recent years. Listen how the story goes now... They are the ones who are today the new villagers. The church is again full every Sunday due to the fact they all convert to Orthodoxy. The school is full due to the fact all became part of the Hellenic educational system. They are the ONLY ones who parrate in every national day! And they parrate... with PRIDE! ..and finally... and thats the better one..... they are the ones who protect those old grant parents from ......UNKNOWN Albanians.. as they say... Yeap! They dont allow other Albanians to move into that village! They allow only relatives or people from their old village back in Albania! They dont accept other Albanians.....especially the ones who call them "Turkalbanians".... in order not to disturb their beautifull life there. In big holidays like Christmas and Eastern when all the families and young Greeks go back for vavation to the village.... there is a happy atmosphere where all.... feel.... as one! The villagers of that village that they have to protect from ....."Turkalbanians". For your info.... 0% criminality in my village in Serres/E.Macedonia. Now... you from diaspora... are trying to tell me... that those people.... hate Greeks and want a separate state?! lol lol lol Guys... I dont know if you got it or not.... but as it seems.... THEY ARE THE NEW HELLENES that you have to face for you dream to become true! Go and tell them for a Greater Albania! Go and tell them... how to loose their paradise! lol lol lol Now relax..... and see the REAL life.

Albanians who did not move to Greece are very different from the Albs who did.... The Kosovo issue has made Albs increasingly nationalistic. A long time ago, nationalism in southern Albania was very rare, for a number of reasons, among them poverty, an overly brutal regime, humiliation of the post-commi years... etc. etc. But now you have large pro-Kosovo rallies, you have an increased awareness of identity, hell, even flag burnings on occasion. A long time ago, if you saw someone with a flag or acting very nationalistic, you would say "his acting like a Kosovar", and this would used derogatorily, now its changing. Closer links with Albs from Kosova and other diaspora Albs have made for increased nationalism, awareness and pride. Even though the distrust of the state still exists, this nationalism is defined outside the simple realm of Albania, this is an ethnic nationalism, that encompasses all Alb groups who wish to partake.
Anyway, I dont consider any claim on Greek territory as being serious, and nobody should. However, northwestern Macedonia and Kosova are another issue. Kosova will soon get independence and very soon, Albs in Macedonia will become such a strong population in both number and wealth that the Slavs will start to push for some form of segregation so as to save what they have left.

All I know is I lost my bet... when I said Kosovo is going to get it's independence in 2007.....
Define soon...causeI have been hearing it for 5 years now as if it's going to happen tomorrow..even though a recent change of events puts Kosovo's freedom on the backburner for IMHO ,another 25 years and I am willing to bet on it to get my money back.

It was supposed to get independence then, but Russia stepped in and blocked the UN way. Now, as it seems, the US and EU are simply gathering as many nations as they can on their side and simply override the UN...
Anyway, the more time lost, the more the Serbs lose. The serb minority in the region will start to shrink more and more as much of the youth will leave for the nicer jobs in Belgrade or the west, while the lower brithrates will not play well against the 2% growth of the Albs. If it was settled tomorrow, Serbia might have gotten away with the north... but as things stay the way they are, the Serb minority will only die more and more. Not to mention that fewer and fewer Serbs will identify with a region they become more estranged from.
The only think that saddens me is how Albs will have to wait and wait in lingo, in an economy that can only be improved at a snails pace. This lingo is not good, people are growing up and dying without proper jobs and security.

Is there an official list of 'nay' sayers?

Its not so much as nay-sayers, just nations that might:
A. Not recognize the country(Russia, China, Georgia, Moldavia, along with Greece, Romania and Cyrprus) B. Countries that will not recognize initially, but will in the long term in all likely hood(Israel)
I think that this will be another one of those "Coalition of the Willing".

The name Moldavia is usually used, in the English language, to refer to the core province that was once the Principality of Moldavia--the same prinipality that created Romania and as such, is a part of Romania. Republic of Moldova is what you meant to say.
It would be better if Romania and Moldova would shut their mouth and mind their own business. The Romanian people, in general, are indifferent to this conflict. Or so I hope.

Albanians who did not move to Greece are very different from the Albs who did.... . [/quote]
Toskali so... the ones here in this forum or in other forums do not represent the Albanian way of thinking as a whole..
What I see here are Albanians vs Greeks. In real life in Greece, I dont see it in the everyday life. Many friends.. especially between children, many mixed marriages, many bridges in generally.
So... it could be more accurate to say... Kossovars or Turkalbanians vs Greeks..?
